Awesome report, wish I could have made it but I only would have been excess weight! Superb pics, really feeling the love for the yellow Fiesta and that mk3 Cortina. I'd love to do a few laps in that, sliding along the bench seat listening to a David Bowie 8-track.

The porker is of 1981 vintage - a 930. Running just over 500 bhp. The owner wasn't really pushing it in the bends as he didn't have a set of track day tyres and needed to drive home on them.
Agreed - the red Nova driver (yes, he is a test driver for Jag) was amazing. I went out in the Nova and was amazed how fast he did the complex at the end of the straight. He was also the only person who seemed to have the measure of the double bend into the straight.
I need some better brakes for the next event though. I could barely hand onto the steering wheel as they were juddering so badly. And I had very little braking left on the drive home.
I really, really can't wait for the next one. Fancy doing Castle Coombe?
Cheers. BB (the M reg white Senny at Marham).

Fancy doing Castle Coombe? CC is quite scary for a trackday so I've been told, not a lot of room for error as its all grass runoff then barriers, watched a bloke in his brand new Pug 306 XSi demolish it at Tower a couple of years ago. Looked like a great day though, always fancied a track session in the Golf, went with my brother to a Caterham session at an RAF base in the midlands and it was a hoot, loads of space to fall off and not damage anything....

Just found this and snaffled some pics, good write up ;D I want more trackness, but quicker, or at least with cars of a similiar power... but quicker would be best.

glad you all enjoyed the read quick isn't everything, I reckon my senny on tight track would be slowed to heck, it 4 wheel drifts wide out of corners I found and on a tight track with little runoff, would have to be slowed considerably. if the engine wouldn't grenade I'd love to try my moggy! drums warped in 5 mins (its like that on the road ;D) but its so much more pointy and entertaining than any other car i've owned maybe when i've upped the bhp. I think everyone should try a trackday in their life, like doing a CBT to be able to drive better in another sense. welcome bargainbucket, you should enjoy it round it here

Oops the pic of the Burgundy senator smoking its wheels was me showboating for me mate in the pits!!!! Was a superb day and would urge all who fancy trying it to go for it!!! I paid 200 for the manual 24v senny just for the day and sold it today for the same price, it did about 160 track day miles on the day absolutely smoothed the tyres and was just a great trackday toy! so it can be done !!

Rwdrules!! o

Nice report. it was my first track day too. I had an absolute ball. I drove the Frogeye from London to Marham, 100 miles on track and then all the way home. The little car diddn't miss a beat and even touched 100mph down the straight. Not bad for a 49 year old car!

Where did you hear about this one? Are there sites you can recommend that list future track days? The only ones I come across are track days at tracks like Brands, Donnington, etc and they are a lot more expensive.
Thanks for the info.

Charlie There are several companies that do evening sessions in the summer (much cheaper for a four hour open pit lane format) Javalin, Book-a-trac, Gold track all have web site prescence I think There are several ex airfield circuits in Norfolk and most have Track Days Marham is slightly different as it is a "live" military base so not so easy to get into. PH Forum is quite good for spotting bargains as far as trackday events go
