Haha nice! Could be legit - F355 is 375bhp I think... not too crazy to get high 200's out of a Starlet and that is still fairly safe!!! This little beast is certainly man enough to take it on - around a track at least!

Love these little motors (: Stuff to look for...very very little...usual turbo checks such as smoke etc, manifold can crack (turbo) other than that...just usual car stuff, a glanza will be an import so check it has been undersealed, rust isn't usually an issue if this is done. I bought both of mine with a cursory glance, no history and high miles, and have never once had a single part fail!

And are they built like usual Japanese cars then and just never fail?

I love starlets
I have picked up a ep82 in black that spun a big end bearing
Its amazing I love it
Ok it needs loads of work
The paint poor Needs engine work Needs a full going over
My list is huge for it but I love it

As an another Irish guy I can only re-iterate the popularity of them over in Ireland. I pulled my one out of a field near Clonmel in 2007 and I paid 200 euro for it. It was Gold at the time of purchase and I bought it to compete in Multi-Venue Autotest and Navigational Rallies. As I worked for Lexus/Toyota at the time I spent 000's on new OEM parts (in addition to the usual rally paraphernalia of Shock, Seats, Harness, Spotlights, Brantz tripmeter etc...) to bring it up to a usable and reliable competitive car. I then (badly) rattle canned it Satin Black because .... well just because This was it at it's busiest period across 08/09: I had amazing fun in the car but had to sell it 2011 for very little money when funds were tight and I was in the process of emigrating. I took the Brantz, Seats and Spots off before selling to try and raise a little more cash Fast forward to last Friday and I was reading the "cars you mis.." thread. I have had some cool cars most notably a 77 911SC, 89 325i, 75 KP30 and a 95 840i but the Starlet is the only one I wish I'd kept. (It would have been good to keep the Porsche but that's more so for the massive profit I would have creamed off the top) I popped a mail across to the guy I sold it to and 1 hour later it was mine again. Thankfully, although continuing to be driven hard it has been well maintained and improved in a number of areas, such as: Power steering Bigger brakes on front and struts Disc brake axle on rear Hydraulic Handbrake as well as normal Gt Turbo seats Brantz trip Brantz clock Belts Extinguiseher PIAA LIGHTS Rear, reversing spotlight Rear spoiler Extra spare wheel carrier and tyres Head recently done and new rad installed Resprayed Gloss Black I have not really though through the logistics of what I'll do with it but the stars seemed aligned and it would have been madness to let it pass. Here are the most recent shots from the current, soon to be previous owner.
