I've been waiting for these pics! After my Bonneville trip this year, the Fuji meet is my next pilgrimage! ps. Dom, my vote is for the Hayashis. You'll be gutted when you get back and someone asks you where you got your Minilites! Yes I do always have that in the back of my mind....... but 9 or 10" wide watanabe`s just look so good in the Metal, can`t decide so I might have to hunt out a set of both Fuji was great, so much better than I expected I can`t wait to see what Hot Olds is like though ...... surely thats the "Big one" And as for Bonneville........ one day I will do speed week in a Rented Airflow Trailer behind a BFO Truck ;D Only not done it yet because I reckon having done it as a spectator, I`d want to go back as a Competitor ...........

I chose Hot Old's because it looked like a great show from the photos I'd stumbled across, car-wise it's far from the biggest but from what I could see it had the most of 'our' type (I didn't want to go all that way to see Hot Rods or standard classics). Not only that, I found a link on the BBC site (for the 1990 World Cup!) explaining how to get to the venue (Ecopa Stadium) from Tokyo, which doesn't sound that important now, but that was a major factor in turning the dream into a reality. In reality Hot Old's was a small show, which to me made it more of an enthusiast's choice.
