Good God man, that was one of my favourites in Look and Learn! (Roman armies, WW1 battleships and jet fighters... what more could you ask for!) What? All at the same time? Who won? That was the mix-up of the story; brilliant though! And in other news, just to cheer georgeb up, our 'local' weather FB page has published reports about Taal and the increased seismic activity, fractures and ground swell of 40cm+ as well as drying up rivers. Last time this happened it didn't end well.....

I'm sure I read something about it in Look and Learn FFS George you're reminding me of how old I am now. Kindly desist Not just me then. Am feeling considerably older today, then I get reminded about Look and Learn. Happy days.

What? All at the same time? Who won? That was the mix-up of the story; brilliant though! I was always told we did! And in other news, just to cheer georgeb up, our 'local' weather FB page has published reports about Taal and the increased seismic activity, fractures and ground swell of 40cm+ as well as drying up rivers. Last time this happened it didn't end well..... It's okay, the latest news is... So no worries then. Not true - neither of us suggested that you drink to excess - merely that you drink beer Working on it. Friday night now. FFS George you're reminding me of how old I am now. Kindly desist Not just me then. Am feeling considerably older today, then I get reminded about Look and Learn. Happy days.

Is it just me, or is the only bit of that I can understand is ‘typical, she said’? 😱

Got to share this. Hungry and looking at Grab for food. Fell upon a place called Chan Rang Fang. Highlights from the menu...I kid you not. Smoked Bean Curd Hot Girl Sprinkle with Meat Burn Rape Sour Pickled Cabbage Powder Pork Fried Garlic Moss The Three Trash Inlane Skate Three Fish Flavoured Sliced Pork (why?) Old Pat Bag Meat Raw Blasting the Waist Paste the Eggplant Fish Head Bubble Cake The Spine Pickled Vegetable Stew Unique Flavour Groping Characteristics Roast Chicken Sauce Elbow... It goes on. Spoilt for choice. Although I do fancy some Common Cold Dishes.

Sooo,
Having spent five minutes typing the above, I was still hungry.
Ordered, via Grab, chicken kebab from Sharwama Shan on Taft Avenue.
Went downstairs to wait for the chappie on his bicycle, picked some fresh mint and, in ten minutes, was eating.
I love Asia!

George, you should set up a go fund me page; would happily donate a fiver to allow you order some of the above, take a pic and give us all a report on how it tastes and how many Rennies you needed afterwards.

Burn Rape must be some violently hot curry...
Get a bottle opener to translate next time?

Where’s you sense of adventure?😛 It's inversely proportional to my sense of survival! Burn Rape must be some violently hot curry... Get a bottle opener to translate next time? Trouble is, it's a Chinee takeaway and the Bottle Opener is Fils, so knows no more than me. Besides which, I'm not sure you should go around asking a sixteen-year-old if she knows what Smoked Bean Curd Hot Girl or Burn Rape is. I don't need that sort of trouble!

Just as well I've got my glasses on or I could quite easily read Burn Rape as Bum Rape. And yet people question the need for a laughter icon alongside the 'like'. That menu is proof. Perhaps try the Old Pat Bag Meat with a side dressing of Sauce Elbow? Or Raw Blasting the Waist with Unique Flavour Groping?

And whilst on the subject of things not saying what they mean, I did a safety induction course for one of the civils packages on this 'ere railway this morning. There are two separate civil contractors, but can they do a combined safety course? Well, of course not. So this is the second I've been obliged to sit through, just so I can get another little sticker on me hard hat. Anyway, part of their procedure reads... Bless. "Oi! You looking at me in a delightful manner? I'll punch your bleedin' lights out!" On a more serious note, another rule is that I have to wear a full body harness when working at six foot above ground or floor. So, if I fall from five foot, tough, but if it's from seven feet, I'll be able to sue their ass off, as even a lawyer worth a quarter of their salt could drive a coach and horses through that one. All for the lack of the word, 'over'! Which brings me onto a particular pet hate of mine (one of many), especially on this project. If you, as a Japanese company, are required to produce a document in English, then produce it in bloody English. Don't stick it through Google Translate from Japanese to Russian, via Spanish, finally into English, and then be arrogant enough to believe it's perfect. Get the damn thing proof read! I can live with the odd small error or typo, but when faced with swathes of meaninglessness, I can feel the will to live slowly ebbing away. Think I'll go find a horse to play with!
