I've been offered a 1960 Morris Mini Minor, without paperwork but we've checked it over with the DVLA and it's still registered on the road etc not scrapped so log book can be re-applied for. It's in quite a state but cheap, ripe for a re-shell but I don't know if it'd be good for much else.
Unsure of whether the engine works or not. Going to look later and take down chassis and engine numbers to confirm identity.
It's cheap but I don't have the time to do it, or the money in fact, but could afford to just buy it for now. What are these babies worth? Would anyone be interested in it for themselves? Should I leave it next to the burnt out Mayfair on bricks it's parked next to? Will Pinky and the Brain ever take over the world? Answers on a postcard please.

Sounds like a load of grief to me. You'll be on for years with a mig torch, and at the end you'll just have another Minor of which there are bazillions already. If you've got a space for it to just sit, theres much more interesting/rewarding stuff to put in that space. Whats happening with your Skud Rabid BTW?

If it needs lots of work i'd leave well alone, theres still plenty of minors in good nick that are cheap as you like...
You can't save 'em all!

D'oh! I read it as a Morris Minor, not a mini.
Probably slightly more viable financially than a minor, i'd probably do as Madmart says and bay it off to some Mini dweebs.

Do it. They only started making them in 1959 so that is proper early.

Right- went for a second look, it is as I thought, sod rotten and full of filler. However it is a 1960 mk1 with floor starter, magic wand gear stick, lever inner door handles, mk1 lights, fold down number plate, centre speedo with shelf dash and 10 inch rims with hub caps. It's pretty rare as far as I'm aware and although unmodified has fallen out of the patch repair tree and hit every branch of tin foil, rivets and filler possible. I'd rather see my Rapid (which is slowly creeping back to life), and my Clubby (which is currently awaiting it's turn at the torch), back on the road. See pictures below, not suitable for children under 30 due to a violent nature. The red mini in the last pic is in fact not the minter it looks, the roof, middle and interior were all set fire to and only a shiny sad front end remains, sob.

I don't agree with ringing these babies, mk1 and 3(?) shells are too different and it's a shame to bastardise something so rare (in my opinion).
