I really don't think you need to worry too much about inexperienced people having an off, the first time I every drove Shelsley it was terrifying I braked into Kennel and Crossing (when you you're racing you never brake through there just lift) and about 80 yards too early for Bottom Ess and kinda coasted through LOL. When you're at Prescott it feels alot more open and you feel you can push the car early on with very little experience, Shelsley is increditabley claustrophobia and I can't see people pushing it, but then again it only takes one I suppose. Rich I have never seen you go up the hill at Prescott my view was obscured by the clouds of tyre smoke from your start. well i won't be going as quick this year but the new car should have a better chance at cornering than the old escort did at Prescott not much more though lol

Cars - MOT, RFL, Insurance - Mandatory (bring your documents with you for sign on) What is the deal with foreign registered cars? I'll hopefully bring something worthy of going up the hill, which is likely to be registered in Republic of Ireland (where I will be living at the time) - pre-1980 cars require no NCT (Irish MOT equivalent) so if it's pre-1980, it won't have one - will this be an issue? It will have tax & insurance regardless. Mark |

Ok so I've had the first batch of questions answered, this thread is providing me with batch two.
Max number of cars in a batch 30/35
Only one passenger per car
No age or height restriction on passengers but they reserve the right to review this on the day.
Seat belts of fitted are to be worn.
Hoping the next round of questions get a slightly quicker reply

I had no idea there was footage of this sideways shenanigans, is there a full video somewhere? There isn't a great deal of room to do this kind of thing at Shelsley though, I would end up picking up bits of the Cossie from the track lol. Although I will try and keep the crowds entertained. Link to Davids info web page retroridesgathering.com/rwyb-hillclimb/Regarding 3 Runs - This is time and attendee behavior conditioned If we have time and we think we will all cars should get at least 3 runs morning and afternoon sessions (which are the same length of time) If people stop on the hill (for whatever reason) then it's going to eat into the "Hill Time" for all - just felt I needed to point that out |
