What can i do about a rediculous penalty charge?

Marlbough road is normal 2 way road, there is even a traffic light to control the exit onto the a103. What is confusing people, is that only cyclists are allowed to enter from the Sussex road end.

aah yes Islington, tell me about it. *someone i know ahem* received a huge fine for unbenown to them venturing just a few yards in a congetsion zone (an area which has since been scrapped) the fine didn't arrive for 3 months. If they had simply asked for the £8 to be subsequently paid I (i mean, this person) would have coughed up, but Being so annoyed at the obscene amount of robbery of around £100 the person decided to pull a little shuck & jive, as they say on the Dukes of Hazzard. The person wrote back saying they were never in London, and their reg must have been cloned. The penalty people then asked for a photo of their car... so they found a similar but not the same car parked in the street, went home and got their numberplate and some sticky pads, and went back to the parked car, stuck the plate over the cars plate and took some photos. The car differed to the one on the CCTV in that it was a different shade, and had different dents, different window stickers and also had a tow bar.

It worked. Now i'm not suggesting for a moment you do this.. becuase its depriving poor old islington of their ill gotten gains but there is also another way that *this person* got off a 36 in a 30 at 2am speeding fine. They simply wrote in saying the car had been exported to Ireland, the day before the 'offence' and since there is no requirement to notify DVLA of the address of the new keeper when sending form off for export, you did not take their address. Just say it was John something maybe. Or was it patrick. They're unlikely to check with DVLA, but invite them to do so, but don't blame me if it doesn't work.

Thats if you ACTUALLY send the thing to DVLA. Just fill the form, photograph it and send pic to the penalty people. Might be enough.

Hmm thinking out loud now.. what if you did actually export it, then you a: write to dvla and apologise that u did it in error as u used the log book for the wrong vehicle,

Well worst case .. you reimported it (on paper) haha, have to pay £55 registration fee though LOL. Thats still a 50% saving

I love hearing of the ways people tackle these tyrranical authorities, I heard one where someone with some legal knowhow threatened to take action against the parking people for advertising on his property without permission, because the fixed penalty notice attached to his vehicle displayed the logo and name of the company or council or whatever. He aggreed to drop the action if they dropped the penalty, which they did.

On a personal note, I paid for a very unfair parking ticket in 1 pence coins recently.
I was worried they'd try to make me wait while they counted them so I made like I was a courier, boxed up the 7,500 coins and made a consignment note and made them sign it after i dumped the box at their desk.

I have paid the penalty...I never said i was going to contest it, i was just feeling out what people's opinions of it were and if i should bother. I've won a number of battles against the bribes in place for petty allegations and this was a new one for me.
The signs quite clearly (when looking on street view) show that you should go left through the narrow section but like any council full of robot workers, human error is never a consideration.
I tried hard to recall this road during my trip and from memory I was thinking so much about trying to find a parking space (to visit my fiance's grandmother), when traveling on this road the car's either side narrowed the road so I was almost in the middle. When i spotted this section of road required me to quickly turn to the left to pass through the narrow section, I didn't see the small arrow signs and the road marking wasn't all too clear.
