Yeah it's took a lot hard work building , earning the dosh and self teaching to get setup like this. I have in my head down the line if possible maybe make some sort of business from 'one offs' parts etc Thanks for your kind comment Go for it. When I were a lad, there were plenty of places to just pop into, engineering shops, agricultural engineers, all sorts who could knock up something. Then most (certainly in my part of the UK) died out. It's good to see, through these pages, they are slowly coming back. Even only as a future venture.

Brilliant thread chap, I lost a good couple hours of my working day reading this thread which in turn inspired me to join the forum and post some of my own junk up! I will be following your next bout of progress with keen interest!
Keep at it!

Just noticed you're only in Northampton too! I'm in MK so hopefully bump in to you at some point when both cars are done... Are they ever really done? The Jacks Hill Cafe (A5 Towcester) Yank and Classic night is always a good laugh if you haven't been before!

After finally getting the input bearing out (just bought a proper slide hammer tool set) in a matter of 3 seconds with the right tool. I lobbed on the tremec, I might make a Perspex trans tunnel now, shame to cover it up! On a curse word note, my flywheel finally arrived from the states after 5 weeks, DAMAGED! Arrrgghh. Looks like some numpty has dropped it, so how in talks with supplier as to what to do from here. Good news is it fits the clutch plate and just needs redrilling for pressure plate. I wouldn't be too bothered about the damage but it's a critical part and its cast so not so great to weld up

If I had to hazard a guess, I would say that crack comes from some numpty bludgeoning in the dowel pin skew at the factory. Very unlikely in transit seeing the crack is bigger at the pin, not the outside. Pity, feel your pain!

On a good note. I've had a full refund from the company and an apology for the misadventure img the fact it's cast iron and not steel as stated.
So now I need to hunt down a UK, hopefully local company to make me one to the same measurement as the above in steel and possibly a bit lighter as its beastly paperweight

Sourced an agila steering eps column and it's just the ticket, much better fit than the corsa c, pretty happy. I may try and shorten it further but to be how at is rather just make a stock item fit, then it's easier to replace incase it fails.

And like you say, aimed at the 1uz, came along at the right time for me (well a bit early i guess!)

Ive got another flywheel being made currently by TTV. Considerably more expensive than the one previously in the post, but at least ill have peace of mind from a reputable company and made with correct spec material
So hopefully thatl be on its way very soon.
And i may pinch your release arm solution froggy or something very similar.

I have a customer with a v12 xjc with a tremec that needed the Titlon Cyl re building after sitting for three months and had done a few hundred miles since the conversion.
