I'm an artist by trade, have been for a few years now, so this is a showcase of what I'm doing in 2014 which is relevant to the interests of the forum. I'm making a concerted effort to build a new collection of artwork focusing on all sorts of cars that sit nicely in the retro and classic bracket and I'll be updating the results in here. All the work you see will be available to purchase and is A4 in size. Pictures are completed in watercolour and ink on Bristol Board artist paper and the prices shown include P&P worldwide. The contents of this post are the tip of what should be an iceberg of entertaining automotive artwork as the year progresses. Panhard PL17 - £40 Vauxhall Viva - £40 Commissions are available, should you so require, and that does tend to be my bread and butter. Details of this are available on request. I keep a suggestion list to work from when I'm stuck for ideas which is why I'm presently in the process of colouring a Reliant Kitten. I shan't be reposting older artwork as I want to stick to the 2014 work. Further suggestions of what to draw are welcome as are your comments on anything I do post.

Been on a bit of a roll today and wanted to get something modified drawn up. Here's a Datsun 240Z, heavily influenced by Japanese culture. As with the above, this one is available to purchase too.

hehe... maybe I will. If there's any sort of car and mod combo you'd like to see feel free to suggest it, I might even be able to put it together. A more certain way of getting what you fancy is to commission me, then you can tell me exactly what you're after. In the meantime, have a base spec Austin Allegro I've done for a friend of mine, something I promised to do a while ago but have only recently found the time. Don't worry, I'll be sticking some more modified stuff in here, there's plenty of inspiration around here to pick from after all.

Didn't know you were an artist - nice work! How is it as a day job? I'm a graphic designer by day and paint in my spare time.

fred: If you're after a commissioned piece - £10 for a sketch, £20 for ink and £40 for full colour, prices inclusive of P&P - then I'd be more than happy to do that, it's a good reference and looks a nice shape to draw. I can't offer freebies, unfortunately, the Allegro was an exception to the rule due to the circumstance behind it being requested. Coming up: mildly modified 1973 Dodge Coronet wagon.

When it's good with a steady stream of work and income, subject matter I enjoy and happy customers it's the best job in the world ever. When it's not and there's stuff I want/need to do/buy and there's no sign of when my next bit of cash is coming in it's quite possibly the worst job in the world ever. That said, I'm happy if skint more often than not and I'd far rather that than to be comfortable and miserable in my work.

I was thinking about going solo a couple of years ago when I was selling a few paintings, but the mortgage made me think twice (and at the end of the day I like my job as well). Maybe one of these days...

I'll be in touch when I have a photo of my cube in a modified state that I want painted. While the cube keeps changing I keep putting off getting a print / artwork done.

Gods I love Cubes, they're freakin' awesome. It's quite exciting what's been suggested in the last 24 hours via e-mail and PM, I'm absolutely bursting with fresh ideas. So far, 2014 is feeling pretty awesome.

That Allegro is superbly proportioned, excellent work Angyl. I'd love to see the outcome of Fred's Ventora.

Another picture. I said I was bursting with ideas and I really am! This is my first pre-war car in the portfolio, a very familiar little car from a very unfamiliar angle. I took the reference photo for this over a year ago now with the specific intention to one day create this picture and I'm very glad I have. Austin Seven - £40

Recently completed commission of a Vauxhall Ventora. My reference was a slightly fuzzy film camera photograph so it goes to show you don't have to give me super fancy digital stuff to work from. I've got a website under construction at the moment, hence the change of address on this picture compared to the previous ones. I'm also very open for commission, I'll draw just about anything with wheels including commercials and motorbikes so please do send me an e-mail or comment here if you're at all interested. I could really do with the work at the moment, January has been painfully slow so far.
