Have you found any? I only ask, because after viewing the list, I won't be eating my hat any time soon. If you don't 'get' it then you should probably keep to yourself. Have you read the MO? Frankly I don't understand how anyone can look at this: and not see that a. it's retro now (it's 2014 btw) b. it's a cool car [/thread] READ THE BIT WHERE I SAID NOVAS ARE COOL AND RETRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point was you cant slag off a VW with poke and stretch, then show a picture of a Corsa with poke and stretch and say it cool....surley they are both cool....Slagging off my VW polo was too easy and a bit non "retro rides" for me. oh well off to stick my "class of 82" sticker on the bottom of my windscreen.... I keep seeing you make comments like this but have no idea who they're actually aimed at. If the Facebook page in question had said 'No Polos' I'm confident it would have got the same response as the 'No Corsas' version did. Please stop trying to make an entire forum apologise for something it didn't do...get over it and enjoy the forum for what it actually is. Your attempts at righting a perceived wrong are creating a lot more negativity than a few comments about your Polo. Nope i'd not of cared a jot if someone with a page of 50 likes on facebook hates polo's. But in amswer to you, this is why i wouldnt care: polo mk1: corsa mk1: Polo is a catch all for cars from the 70's... funny how i get the "being negative" comments because i proffer a different opinion to you..can you not just accept some people don't like corsa's in any guise. To add, the only pictures of corsas even close to cool are just basically trying to look like VW...ypu know poke and stretch, ratted, roof racks ats's etc etc....why have a corsa if i could own a VW?

Thats not really a good argument seen as the car has bben around since 1959 in one form or another . So what you mean is the original car desgin has to be 30+ years? Well here's a Porsche 968, this was a development of the 924, 944 Porsches, the original design is from 1976 making it 38 years old. Yet I wouldn't say that the 968 is classed as retro look. There are many examples like this and the Mini Cooper. Being old, dosen't make it retro. Being rare dosen't make it retro. Retro is all about modifying cars and this forum is all about sharing what you like, not what you don't.

And the mini wasn't originally designed to be a shopping trolley? The only reason its interesting is because its an antiquated design that stands out because of the chrome bumpers and suchlike and because theres fewer of them than there used to be. Compare a Corsa B to the latest Corsa and the difference in technology would be huge, add the fact that Corsa's are getting some people modding them nicely ( slammage 's Corsa on here is a great example) and you get a car that is probably more retro/cool than people realise It may have bben a shopping trolley but a shopping trolley with kudos . A rally and track giant slalyer . Whats a corsa done ? A few wheelspins in Mcdonalds car park . People buy one because of its heritage , its in acompletely different ballpark to a corsa . Yes the mini has heritage now, but my point is, at the time it was designed to just be another small car for people to buy for running about in. Pretty sure that people buying grotty old minis to get about in the 70's and 80's (when minis were getting to around the same age the corsa b is now) weren't buying them purely because of the race results and 60's nostalgia, it was just a cheap mode of transport. What's a Corsa done? You make it sound as if its the car's fault that chavs happened to buy them and do burnouts and stuff... I suppose Vauxhall could have built in a sensor that activated the immobiliser anytime someone in an addidas tracksuit sat in the drivers seat..

I would beg to differ , a lot of young people would buy one as you could get all sorts of parts for them and it was a cool first car . Of course I'm not saying every one bought them for there race/rally history I'm just saying a corsa is just mundane compaired to it

Poke and stretch aren't VW only mods. If anything they come under the banner of 'Euro scene' which would include vauxhalls, wide wheels and lows work on many cars, it doesn't mean they're trying to be a VW.. But clearly you don't like them as you chose a pretty poorly modded corsa to go against that nice polo mk1. So just stick to your polos and leave the corsas be

READ THE BIT WHERE I SAID NOVAS ARE COOL AND RETRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No need to shout. Maybe before you start a thread about Corsas you should read up a bit? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_CorsaSee "Corsa A" Whats there to laugh about ? A mini has heritage and history , its amazingly fun to drive . Corsas are also fun to drive. My point is that heritage might make you feel all warm and tingly, but it doesn't change the car. For example Lancia has amazing heritage and they're producing some pretty amazing Chryslers right now. Anyway, this thread sucks I'm off.

You are just helping make my point.

Its like a joke that is all, like a chavalier, vauxhalls get grief and arent helped by JC and Top Gear taking digs at them, but its banter and fun...now its just gone crazy where people are trying to argue that some how a vauxhall corsa is some sort of car to be held up on a pedastal...its kinda embarrassing really to argue its anywhere close to being like a Mini!! Like i say, daft argument. Even if some corsas can be made to look half decent it wont change the fact they arent cars you will see in the car history books as game changing or significant...

Its not a corsa a , maybe if you bought it in europe as a opel , ovber here its a vauxhall nova . Your really talking out of your backside , the history of the cars use means its very well developed in as whats avaliable for it so that changes every thing . Ive had enough of your trolling trying to provoke a reaction so i to am off .

oh man. the OP must be completely insane in the membrane!
point #1- do a google fu, I already have a brilliant thread up on corsa b's look back on that
point #2 you really do know how to confuse people?!
point #3 corsa b's are and can be cool, such as where mine is posted by EmDee (thank you) but everyone has an opinion and are of course entitled to it. variety is the spice of life they say..
you sir though, frankly, are annoying me on here with your various posts of such hatred to a car. so I chose to write this out and if you love polos so much don't be jealous/envious of the corsa b/nova.
much love - Gav
