No dodge sadly not me ,but wouldn't be surprised if I'm the o ly person that hasn't been severely injured by a vintage yz490
Had a few bikes but there's only three I've eve been to scared to get on Yz490 Cr500 evo bike And some big early 90,s maico think it was a 410 or summat left hand kick
Those three I wouldn't even get on now if ya payed me hahaha

Some nice bikes and pics chaps ,keep em coming ...... And nomad that tt600 must be a giggle . Have a good friend with a yz490 of similar vintage that if honest scares the life out of me hahahaha. And don't even talk to me about kick starting the thing still have a fractured leg to prove it , famous last words from the owner after a fresh rebuild "it'll be fine ". ... Looks too nice to ride that aswell very tidy "Giggle" isn't the word I would have used to describe it It has an automatic decompressor which helps. I found the only way to start it is just go for it 100% - anything less and it will bite you - HARD Or you can be *really* nasty and unhook the decompressor then let some joker / toerag try to start it I got it about 10 years ago, stripped it and got the frame and painted bits powder coated one winter not long after I got it. Shame it's in storage for now as it's a proper hooligan machine Managed to commute to work every day - even in snow & ice - using a "sensible" Honda VT500. The one day it snowed overnight and was too deep for the Honda, I used the Yam and *loved* going to work that day

I have a 1980 Honda XL250 with 6700 miles on it. I don't take it out often, maybe a bit of a pootle in the summer. its pretty old skool. Drum brakes, twin shocks, 6 volt, kick start. But its nice to ride, not too tall, not too top heavy and it has some torque at the bottom of the rev range which the more powerful later models do not as they are much more revvy.

I found the only way to start it is just go for it 100% - anything less and it will bite you - HARD Or you can be *really* nasty and unhook the decompressor then let some joker / toerag try to start it I had a mate whos party piece was to start his XR600 with his hand! He could do it everytime, it was mainly in positioning the piston at just the right point. I used to commute on a couple of XL600R's one was the normal one and one was the Paris Dakar type - they were a huge laugh, especially with road tyres on. I always found them easier to start with the decompressor disconnected as you could feel TDC

Few more of my past ones Dabled in a few trials bikes over the year to Scorpa i had Then a beta Xr 650 i had what a beast of a bike so smooth yet pulled like a bull Sold the xr and tried a 2 stroke for a change so went with a yz 250 Also had a few road bikes along the way. Wish i still had this one, Going up in price every day know, If only i,d have known Couple of old winter rides My current road bike a definet keeper, Not going to make the same mistake i made in selling the R1
