Wow! Just read through this whole thread from start to finish - fantastic! Great work and lovely cars, especially Amy. Brilliant that they are all used too Thank you for the kind words Cars should always be used IMHO - it's better for them than not being used, and a lot more fun of course! Cheers Matt

And long story short, we qualified well, 4th out of 12 in the Academy series, which is pretty competitive with some serious players and budgets. However, it turned out that the oil leak we thought was cured wasn't, and in fact was due to 2 splits in the sump, which were getting worse... no time for a sump swap, so we did the best we could with a plate and chemical metal and crossed our fingers it would hold. Needless to say it didn't(!) so after a promising start, up to second by the first corner and a few good laps' scrapping, the grip went (these cars are incredibly sensitive to inside rear wheel traction, running an open diff) and we slipped back down the grid. We were smoking heavily and while I could keep an eye on oil pressure which was fine I was not comfortable thrashing someone else's engine running low on oil, particularly as a decent result wasn't on, so brought her in. Shame, and the engine builders couldn't be more apologetic, but that's racing, and in age old parlance - 'we'll be back' Big thanks to Glenn for a fun outing and new experience, and to mate Ian for getting stuck in and trying everything to give us a crack at the race with the oil on the inside! Cheers Matt

Great stuff there Matt. Thank you.
I do like Donington, it just looks so right with historics hurtling around it.
You not racing the TVR at the moment?

Great stuff there Matt. Thank you. I do like Donington, it just looks so right with historics hurtling around it. You not racing the TVR at the moment? Cheers George Griffith should be out next year - been a very busy year and only got round to sorting my race licence for the year when Glenn invited me to do Donington with him! The sunlit uplands of 2017 will however of course comprise a 9-5 existence allowing no end of motor racing and general automotive tomfoolery. Perhaps I've a few more decent pics that Ian took at Doni and some professional ones of Amy taken at RRG so will pop those up shortly when I get a mo There should also be imminent news of progress on Amy - having popped a 650 Holley the broken logs and an el cheapo system on her just to get her up and running / on the road / in use / out of Malcolm's hair(!), all of which they managed marvellously, it's time for the efi upgrade, decent headers and a proper dual 2.5" or 3" system. Just trying to sort headers that will fit with minimal tweakage, and we're on. Looking forward to it! Cheers Matt

So minor update time - been a mad busy winter Amy still needs a final fettle on the cooling front - airlock or busted water pump the prime faves, also going full injection (but hidden) soon Pic of Buzby recently received below - yours truly at the helm, Glenn's covering email captioned simply 'Oi! It's not a motorbike you know!' More soon Cheers Matt
