Can someone help my coolant / antifreeze headache?
I've got G12 in the wife's 2001 1.0 Lupo, and unknown pink coolant in my 2003 1.8T A4 daily and the Zetec SE Mog.
I've always used G12 but it doesn't appear to be available anywhere and is either G12/G12+(G30), G12++(G40), G13 or G48. I know can't mix pink with blue, orange, green or whatever but is it ok to mix G12 with G12++ or G30 with G40? Can just top up with purple lidded G13?
If I stick with pink coolant / antifreeze can I mix any of them or do I need to drain and flush the system? Any advice?

G48 is the green glycol based stuff, which will only mixed with other glycol based coolant, Usually the 2 year blue stuff is glycol based but not all of them are now! G30 is OAT based. Basically you can mix glycol with glycol, and probably oat with oat!
Edit: after reading what I;ve just typed that isn't that clear either! Comma G30 is oat with glycol! erm so probably ignore my advise until someone more qualified turns up!

You can mix G12 with G12++ but it is only as good (I.E, life/ corrosion properties) as what the inferior coolant is out of the combination. G12++ is the superseded and improved coolant over G12 and G12+.

Dealerships are only carrying G13 for Dubs atm - although I saw plenty of G12++ in GSF the other week. Guess they're clearing old stock.
G13 is fine to mix with G12, 12+ and 12++ according to the SEAT parts guy I spoke to.

For what it costs, just fully drain and flush the system (good idea to do this once a year anyway despite the claims of coolant manufacturers) and refill with the coolant recommended.
