because old news is better than no news... Back in '88 drag racing legebd and renound performance parts and race tyre manufacturer Mickey Thompson and his wife were guned down in an execution style kiling at their home. in 2007 the killer finally comes to trial and goes down for twice life. www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-thompson2mar02,1,6923943.story?ctrack=1&cset=true Took a long time to get the barsteward, but he's done now.

This is bizzare. I havent heard the name Mickey Thompson since pinching my brothers copies of Street Machine in the `80s - strangely this is a bit like finding out that Stu Francis or Nik Kershaw was killed in an execution style murder. Its good that they got someone for it but I`m still reeling a bit from the old news!

The tyre business succeeded him, is still going strong, and they recentlyish went back into making wheels. Not been doing blowers or casting heads or anything for a while though...
