Before Beths Radio Flyer had been started , I had started her Tot Rod project Here is the donor vehicle being extensively tested by Mrs Nightmares Racing , And the body. Its taken a while but this is how it stands at the moment . Chassis constructed from 25mm box and 10mm tube , front axle is the one from the mobility scooter, widened to fit the body . Rear axle is the mobility scooter one with built in motor but with 70mm adapters / spacers to get the 8" mower wheel and tyre package in the right place and to change from 4 x 3" pcd to 4 x 4" pcd . The motor and controller are from the mobility scooter but batteries are to be changed for something with a bit more capacity .

I used a old Briggs and Stratton 8hp lawn mower albeit minus the blades (Think I missed a trick there!) Rejiggled a few bits but it certainly made life easier. I've also seen Kettle go karts underneath them and the high end Billet built specials. One thing I did was a jet ski type kill switch in case hands were to far away from the steering wheel and a sealed fuel tank in case of rollover in the event of a crash. Good luck

I think its a ride-on mower under a tot-rod body.

I think its a ride-on mower under a tot-rod body. Yes that's what it is. One useful part of this conversion is that the mower had a diff. So I took off all the mower junk, stretched the chassis to suit the Model A wheelbase and the re jigged a few parts. Ended up with a 8hp kart with a gearbox incl reverse and enough torque that I could also ride on it. I'll dig some more pics out and post them up.
