That wasn't critisism, that was an opinion.....There's a difference. Don't be scared of honest opinions, they can be contructive if you view them in the right way.......Learn to listen But you don't seem to understand,.. the whole raison d'etre of this forum is nothing is best left alone. But why can't i disagree with that? I don't believe it's true, some things work better than others......in all aspects of life.

What an odd world it would be if we all thought the same...It sounds very blinkered to me imagining that for a second that everybody should. But if that's how this forum has to be then that's how it has to be.

Handbags away guys.
I always liked the March Super Turbo.
I would be concerned about owning a Micra K10 as I have heard / read a few trhings about their crashworthiness....
I actually kinda like the little bubble ones. When I had my newish Rover I had them as courtesy cars and they were fine little buzzboxes.
I'd probably have a Ka over any of them tho, or a Cincecento.

What an odd debate! For the record, I don't really like Micra's. I don't really like any cars of that genre - small hatchbacks e.g. Micra, Metro, Fiesta etc ad nauseum, mostly because they all seem built down to a price, tinny, and generally unpleasant places to be. The only possible exception to that is the Pug 205 purely because it can overcome those traits by being a h00t to drive. Now saying that I don't like them, doesn't mean someone else can't fiddle with one. And they may do it in such a way that I can appreciate. For instance that olive drab micra -looks- great, really nicely done. But no car of this type is going to have me reaching for the Kleenex really. Even Slater's Metro. Great car, great skills - I appreciate that, but being a Metro it will never get my groove going in a huge way. Fair play though to anyone who (a) builds something clever in this genre and (b) anyone who finds that result yogurt-spillingly exciting. JM2pW

Come on lads, we`ve all had a drink, just leave it, its not worth it!
I know I piled into the other scrap over on the stance thread, and probably indirectly had a go at one or two fellow members in the process, I just saw the opportunity to clear the air and it was a bit of fun, but this sounds like a stalemate that`ll do the forum no good in the long run.
Feel free to tell me to f*ck off and stay out of it, I`ve been told worse.
Edit: This was aimed at a couple of posts back, AK and pog arent in a stalemate they must have posted while I was typing!

Arguments are alright as long as they don't turn into a game of chess.
If that Blue Micra is yours its just about bang on, just what I was thinking of. Why don't you try a black grille? You don't need to paint yours, just get one from a scrapyard and matt black it, pop it on when you fancy a change, I reckon it`ll look ace. I`ve got two sets of light surrounds and grilles for My Capri - one set body colour, one set black, takes about 5 minutes to make it look a different car!

Wow, 1. because a great selection of pics, and 2 cos of the friction. I have had two Micras, infact if i'd not of had 2 of everything else, it would be my signature car, good job i've had loads others since! ;D They were curse word! No not really, they defo seem very 'disposable' my first one a tidy crash refix developed loads of probs at 70-odd-k breaking down all the time, i nearly rolled it once when the shocks were dieing! since then i have struggled with the fact that Nissan make decent bigger, and sporty cars, Skyline etc, really i have, drive a standard micra snd see my point! the second, an early C reg one was a REAL rat looker, or Sh@t looker, its revvy little engine, begged for abuse, and it looked Knackered. Man i really really miss that car, never thought i'd say that! unassuming, so modest its takin the p1$$, comfy cheap to run, just so sad it was so rotted my mechanic insisted i run the Polo instead! Boring. I WOULD have another, however, 'DP' bust my bubble last year after saying how unsafe they can be in a crash, that puts me off a lot, but i'd still love to see some heavily modded ones to solve it problems

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Hey,you're never going to get anywhere in an arguement between two blinkered people! ;D I was saying that both attitudes can be seen as blinkered, diverse means accepting all points of view, not everybody likes everything and critisism by nature is destructive in order to be constructive. Seriously.....you surely can't like everything can you? (Sorry to all you modded Micra fans for blah blah blahing on in your thread but i'm being suppresed brothers! )

Last one.... ;D
Just to re-itterate my comments......
I saw the thread title and thought....'.oohh this will be interseting,i'd like to see some modded Micras'
I clicked and looked at the pictures without my blinkers on.
I decided i didn't think they worked, like someone was trying too hard
I voiced my opinion.
Is my crime so bad? It's not like i've started a crusade to destroy all Micras and their owners now is it?
Anyway......enough.

You`d be at it a long time if you had, they're still making the things there must be millions across the globe! And with all their owners destroyed too, you`d be looking at the biggest and most peculiar massacre the world had ever seen!
Still it`d get global warming and Pete Docherty out of the tabloids for a bit.

vic, it is my car but its been photoshopped rather brilliantly by someone on this here forum! heres the pic it came from: I bought me micra as a daily hack cos they are probarly the cheapest cars to buy, run and they are incredibly reliable- returns between 45-50 mpg every tank. Keeps miles off my (more modern I'm afraid) project car. I never thought I'd actually end up liking it............. but I do! I've now decided its cool, so thats why i've treated it to painted rims and a 13" steering wheel, not forgetting the rev counter out of my old Mk1 escort too. I plan to lower it too, have new dampers in the garage awaiting new shorter springs. don't care if people don't like it BTW ;D

Does the 16v engine from the next generation of these fit easily into the K10(?) Swmbo has a 1000cc 16v in hers and its a fantastic fun whizzy engine that loves to rev. I've had this idea brewing that it might be possible to put one of the 16v engines in the earlier car and perhaps combine it with the turbo set up from a Figaro.

Well mr Phooey, one thing you should know about this forum is that you are allowed an opinion as long as its the same as Hotwires or Slaters. Otherwise, just agree with everything and tell everyone there car is great even if it is a bucket of sh1te. Do that and you'll get on fine here.

I`ve heard it said that the earlier engines will go more or less straight into a later bubble shape car, so if thats true it should work the other way round. Best news is that the 1.0 Twin cam is a cheap engine to buy, if you shop around you should get a good low mileage one from a breakers for about £80, theres loads of bubble Micras in the scrapyards now but its hardly ever the engine thats put them there, so not much demand. If not buying from a breakers that will stand behind the engine to a degree then make sure the timing chain isnt rattling its nuts off, its a very long job that frankly isnt worth doing given the cheapness of the 2nd hand engines.*
*I might be talking out of my ar5e here, I havent looked under the bonnet of a K10 for a long time, the reason they interchange so easily might be because they`re the same engine, but I have a feeling the K10 uses a SOHC 8 valver as standard, therefore the twinc would be a cheap upgrade, and the 1.3 from the SR would be ideal and (in theory) not much more difficult.
Blue one looks good already get them springs on but the wheels have done the majority of the work, these things were made for black steelies.
