Getting there. It needs minor bit refilling but the shape is almost there apart from a little fine tuning. The other side still looks like a badly made christmas cake, but i figured it would be easier to do what i needed on one side, then copy it to the other side rather than try and do both at the same time. I had an idea for colour but i keep thinking of other ideas. Anyone got any sugestions? Luminous yellow made up race livery, redbull, gulf, plain white. Cant quite make my mind up. It seems that the milliput can be used with as much water as you like. Makes it easier to mix, might take a bit longer to set proper hard, but it does set.

This festive treat arrived today from those nice people at Pioneer. Photo does not show how metallic the green really is. Reminds me of the type of custom car that was around in the 70's.

This cost me more than I was expecting it to. It's not available here so I bought it from Australia and got stung on import tax. I knew there would be some but not almost half what the van cost to buy.

Got some more bits done over the last few days, between all the chaos. Fitted some wheels inserts to the blue mini, and finnished shaping the bodykit on the yellow one. looks reasonably symetrical, but hard to tell until it gets a coat of primer. I'm not sure if I should leave it as it is between the arches, or fill the gap with a 'running board'/ sill cover. At the moment it looks like Could look like whaddya recon?

I think it looks better with the running board myself. Coming along very nicely indeed.

Did anyone buy a new scalextrics set recently? I have a hankering for getting a set to set up for when the grandchildren call. Whom am I kidding, it's for me actually.
Any advice on what to buy and more importantly how much it's going to cost me?

Depends what youre looking for, touring cars, GT, F1, theres quite afew to choose from, id recommend something from the current range, or at least sport-track, as the track is much easier to put together and take apart.

The only thing i can think is possibly wrong is one car is missing its wing mirrors, other than that its all good. only reason I'm selling is ive moved to a (much ) smaller house and i don't have the room for two sets anymore. I'm in stockport , cheshire

Nice start to the new year there disastra, good colour scheme on that one. The mini has had a bit more done to it, I sanded all the bottom of the car flat on a block in order to have a flat, square edge to stick the skirts onto, and once the glue was set I blended them in with more putty, then added a front splitter to finnish it off. Its now had a few brushed on coats of putty, to give me a decent surface to sand with fine paper so I don't get any scratches. I'll leave it for a few days to make sure its as set as it can be. I'm happy with how level it is, if it was much lower it would probably ground out. Still cant decide on colours. I'll think more about that once its in primer.

All great looking bodies Mark, the Imp is my personal favourive. The arches on my mini are the first time ive tried to do anything like this so I can imagine the skills it takes to do a whole body.

The Anglia is formed in Yellow plastic, the other three are white plastic painted. I used Halfords car body paint, with a couple of coats of their clear lacquer over the top to protect the waterslide transfers, on the painted and plastic shell. I'm usually a bit ham fisted with paint, but these do seem to have come out OK. It was so cold I made an extra effort to get the paint warm, which probably helped.
