Thinking about it there may actually be a hi and low range selector under the large gear stick gaiter that is fitted to the Tata! Haha (there was a hi low knob in the glove box) I will have to check that.
As for just putting the Tata body on to discovery I believe the body mounts are in different places on the chassis so that would require modifying the chassis (which is why I have also made a thread about modifying chassis's bellow this thread).
I'm fully able to work on cars competently and believe it or not used to work for Land Rover as a young apprentice a few years back haha, I just don't know much about different gearboxes and part numbers etc!
