1991 Renault 25 Executive 2.0i 12v (140hp) auto.
No MoT & No Tax.
I purchased this car at the beginning of the year. However due to a change in priorities and other projects I am no longer able to collect, nor have the time to get it back on the road in the near future. Therefore I have decided to sell it on rather than just let it sit.
Please note the car is located near Aberdeen (AB34 5BD) and is being stored for me by the previous keeper.
I personally have not seen the car in the flesh, however I know the seller and I know he describes his cars accurately. That’s why I purchased it unseen from him.
The car was laid up approximately 2 years ago not thorough any mechanical defects, just purely because the previous keeper stopped using it. It was originally housed undercover but was moved out into the open to make way for another car at the beginning of the year.
As far as I am aware there are no major mechanical defects and the condition of the car is best described as very good to excellent.
Interior is excellent with good black leather which has no rips or excessive wear. The remainder of the interior is again in excellent condition.
It has all the usual electric windows, mirrors etc… and of course the voice warning system.
Bodywork has no rot or dinks, there is one fingernail size scab on one wheel arch and a few light scratches and stone chips consummate with its age.
Wheels are again in very good condition.
Engine is good with no rattles or bangs and there are no issues with gear selection or change. It has the later 4 speed box.
It will require a new battery but will start on jump leads or a battery pack.
I cannot say it will need nothing for an MoT as it has been off the road for a couple of years, but as previously stated there were no issues when it was first laid up. I reckon some light work on brakes, maybe some bulbs and a service should see it ready for submitting for an MoT.
I’ve owned three of these luxo barges in the past and IMHO only Jaguars and some Citroens of the same age compare for ride.
For an auto they are pretty economical, I used to get mpgs in the high 30’s and sometimes into the 40’s on a regular run from Lincolnshire to Scotland in a previously owned R25 with the same engine and gearbox.
As previously stated the car is near Aberdeen and I am located in Lincolnshire so viewing needs to be arranged via the previous keeper. I will pm his phone number to those genuinely interested in viewing/buying.
Price, ideally I am looking for offers close to £300 to recover close to what it owes me. But I will take the best offer ‘over’ £200 if that offer comes with a quick sale and a speedy collection.
That’s pretty well close to scrap value on this as they are quite a hefty motor.
If it was broken I reckon the wheels and interior alone would fetch close to what I am asking, but there is plenty of life left in the car so I would prefer it was sold to someone who will put it back on the road.
Forgot to mention the mileage………………………………………its only done 50k and I believe there is history to back this up.
