	Love this. Those dials are perfect, the big rev counter in the middle is ideal for free CAD programs, Sketchup will run on anything and there's a good community and load of tutorials out there. for simple shapes it's very easy. I've not tried anything curvaceous on it but I have Solidworks for that.

	Big day today; the e-marked side glass was ready for collection. With the laminated front screen and the lexan rear screen already in hand, this means that the most awkward part of complying to the IVA is now sorted: Other things are slowly getting done, such as pressing together the front hub assemblies and re-bushing the suspension arms:

	I’ve been neglecting this thread a bit. The car is slowly going together now; the gear box is in, most of the loom is in, and the full front end is done (it’s now on two of its wheels). Moving onto the rear assembly soon. I’ll get some pictures up, but have a picture of the brakes going in as an idea:

	Is that brake disc the same or larger diameter than the original wheel diameter the car came out of the factory with?

	A couple of pics of it on its front wheels; I’m happy with the way it looks ‘stance‘ wise, although it definitely needs a front air dam to balance the look (I suspected this, so have mounting points incorporated into the lower edge of the front).

	Quick update to the thread. First a few solutions that I was particularly pleased with: Some “made to measure” gas struts sorted out the bonnet stay issue (it couldn’t be hinged at the back as the horse shoe shaped alloy bonnet wanted to splay out from the force of the struts, and I didn’t want a rod): Sorted the remote battery out with some IVA friendly battery terminals and fuse box bits: Had to make the slam panel removable to aid with engine installation (p.s. the long engine is in): Gave up on the idea of having an iPad in the dash (too many compromises) so modified the dash to accept a touch screen head unit that has a remote screen):

	Potentially controversial… After messing about with a couple of other options, I went for these fiat 500/punto door mirrors. I think they suit the chunky nature of the car, but predict they’ll be marmite.
