I think that used to be a local car to me. Pickering, North Yorkshire? Sure it belonged to a guy who also has a Traction avant. It was on the road and driving then. Nice rare car, was a joy to see at the time. Hope someone takes it on!

Tried on the CCC, the silence was deafening. International 2CV club I haven't tried. Chevronics didn't want it, even for bits. It got up to a semi-reasonable price on eBay but the winning bidder seemed to think his final bid formed the start of negotiations to chip money off over the phone. He also wanted a discount because of his potential fuel bill - not my problem where the car is, I'm afraid. It's a terrible time of year to be selling a car, let alone an obscure French model in need of some serious welding. Even the money-through-letterbox shovelling of the OSF brigade abates during the winter months. I've had some good suggestions, some 'possibly maybes' and one person pull out (fair enough, he kept me informed) but no-one's actually come to see it yet. Time of year I would think. Bump for a new, lower price. I'd like this to go to a good home but breaking it for spares is looking all the more likely. Are you ready to start breaking it? How is the fuel tank as mind needs replacing as it is damp around the seam. I'm waiting for a decision from a former owner who wants it back but can't find the cash at the moment. After that I can start ringfencing parts. Given that you baulked at spending a fiver on train fare to pick up a £100 Rover on autoshite, I'm not expecting you to offer me that much........

The £100 Rover was a lot of fun, but still my game to get best price on the train comes back to haunt me, still think an A frame on a mega bus sounded a good idea! You are right sometimes I am not the most generous of buyers, I am always looking to stretch what I have as far as possible. But I promise you that I am a very straightforward person to deal with, if we agree a deal I will always honour it. My GS is with Rob Moss being returned to the road. Today I agreed to buy a second-hand fuel tank which came from the South of France from him, so progress can continue.

I have successfully bought two cars from this very forum, 1st a year ago was a 1994 MX5 1.8i which I have always been very pleased with and still have. The 2nd was a Volvo 850 estate, which I did not need but as I was sold it at a very low price, just bought it anyway, a friend took a liking to it, so bought it from me and is still running it as a daily car.
dugong - Now you have got me thinking about the cars I have bought in the last 12 months and maybe I should be much meaner with my offers as I have purchased 13 cars in one year! To offset this I have sold 5 cars but this still means a net gain of 8 cars to our collection. No it’s not a business just a hobby. Every one has a story behind it from I have always wanted one of those, I really like it, I have never had one of those, to it’s so cheap I will have it.
