I'll move this to the ebay section in the next day or so, unless some people can find some more photos and stuff on this car, in the mean time! : "car has been properly IVA tested ( at a cost of £540 ), so is fully road legal hence the Q plate so no need to worry about police taking it of you unlike a lot of rwd converted cars out there running around on a normal reg plate which are illegal." This is what I like to see... awesome Where the hell has this car been? Why did I know about it already!

That is awesome! Looks to have been done beautifully and finished off really nicely. I love this approach of making something that looks and works like a factory car, but is actually a combination of many. I thought this was going to be about my friend Ben's Astra Rally car at a glance, now minus the graphics/rust: Looks fairly standard, but it's basically a works car with a highly tuned 8v engine. 6speed sequential box, Pilbeam uprights, custom drive shafts, AP 4-pots etc..

Impressive build! Wonder if there is a build thread, to Google! There isn't, I messaged the owner/builder. He took loads of pics during the build, but they are not uploaded onto the web. I've encouraged him to post them here.

That is fantastic! I love how subtle it is, too. At a glance, you wouldn't think anything of it, a nice, tidy GTE. Then you notice the Merc wheels, the Merc Badge on the back, and the Q plate. I just love how they haven't gone over the top with it. Brilliant

So how's it likely to have been done then? Would it have been difficult to get it through an IVA?

Using two cars that late model would mean its pretty easy to pass a biva, as externally they're already fully compliant. The older the car is the harder it is to get it through a test, due to issues with glass, lenses, radiusususues and other general protrusions such as hinges an handles.

This is why I asked this a little while ago.. I was wondering what sort of years you are looking at for cars to be pretty easy to BIVAable.

The only thing that could possibly make that any better if it was in a two doored Belmont shell. Hope the seller gets some pics up!

That really is delicious. And for the first time in a long time, it's a 'built' car on eBay which doesn't leave one scoffing at the price, as you can see where that £5000 went.
Bravo to the builder.
