Hi all Newbie here so thought i'd post up some Pic's of my Mk3, she's my daily and only form of transport, been in my family since 91 when she was rescued in a round about way from a scrapyard, was used until she came off the road for some restoration work which led to being unfinshed and draged from pillar to post for 10 years before i brought her 10 years ago. I carried on the work and collecting parts until i handed the car over to Dominic who runs DLF Classic cars who took all the jigsaw pieces, put them back together and she was ready for the road for the first time in nearly 20 years, she has been used and abused and kept running over the last 5 years and has been spot on, here are some pic's hope you like

Cheers Dude, Just a 1.6 at the mo but it's leaking more and more oil so plans are afoot to upgrade to a 2.0.

Goodness me, that is just stunning... If I was to offer one pointer it would be to get a set of 1970's style pressed steel number plates fitted... Those modern 'euro-spec' plates just don't look right on an old motor as stunning as this...!!! Gorgeous...

Cheers Guys, she scrubs up well and is solid, no show car but she dose me proud. Here are a couple more pics The custom boot carpet the wife made, did so well i got her to make a new interior one too. An arty shot by my mate Trigger, this was taken a couple of years ago on the Ipswich to Felixstowe run. And finally some wheel love, these came with the MK3 when i got her but i changed them for the D1 reps, they starting getting a bit tatty so i cleaned up the Slots by hand and put them back on, so glad i did as is was worth the effort. After 800, 1200, 1500 Wet and dry and a polish. End game ) Cheers again guys

Cheers Dude, It was, i used to work for the bike dealer over the road from it, it used to be low with a 2 inch drop but being a daily it's not really practical with the sh*t roads we pay for, i keep wanting to drop it again cause she dose sit a bit high, if i get my wagon back on the road as a daily then i will seriously look at dropping her again.

Almost looks clean in that pic Triggs lol. Cheers for the comments guys, she's a solid old girl considering she's used daily, well dailyish since i got a job closer to home, i've always preferred the vinyl although mine picked her's up along the way after an awful hail storm many moons ago a previous owner covered the dent filled roof as we found out when it was replaced, just love uncovering the past stories and lives of old cars Cheers again guys.

Small Update, I've finally got round to collecting Graces new motor , It's a 2.0 and plan is to strip it, get it chemically cleaned and rebuild it, have some fun and plan the next stage.

So many memories....... I had a few MK3's in the early 80's, as did my mates and my Dad, and I'd love another now. I had black perspex windows in mine, which was unusual in 1984, along with Wolfrace slots. There was also a craze for having the diff lit up with a red light for some bizarre reason?! Haha, they were the days! I'm off to check the classifieds. We used to love this film for its MK3 content.
