isnt that the track whre jeremy clarkson took that super nissan thing round?? There is more than one race-track in the US Amazingly there are even some seriously good 'drivers road' that have fast sweepers, tight hairpins, short straights, off-camber down-hill 'skill testers' and even overtaking zones. Looking at the pics they appear to have been taken all over the US, but one or two are definitely from Laguna Seca (where JC drove the Honda NSX). Not sure about the super nissan thing though Just google for 'Ortega Highway', that is my local 'playground'.

Isn't it amazing how trad Brit stuff like TR3s and MGs look so damn cool when they're done in 60s Yank race style? I've got to the point where a red restored one with wires isn't even going to make me look twice but that blue TR6 is really doing something quite unusual to me...
I'm going to embarass myself now, but for loads of great 60s race footage the original Herbie film rocks...

ovals have corners but they are banked and the cars are set up weird. I know a chap who had an ex oval racer Camaro brought in by a customer who wanted it set up for track racing in the UK. Ended up throwing almost allt he suspension and even part of the engine away...
Those photos as said are from all over the USA. They even have a "Grand Prix" series which is all done on city streets like Monaco, usually with modiifed GT cars rather than open wheel F1 style cars (Indy or whatever)
I tried to avoid NASCAR cars, although the 50s, 60s ones are cool as, the modern stuff leaves me cold as its one-trick-pony stuff. The old school stuff was at least modified production cars.
