The seat on the left has had a clean and brush and a bit of dye to help bring back the colour. Sent from my cave using proboards Hi Phil, i have question for you! did you die the velour?? I didn't think you could die velour! Have you done this before or is it the first time you've tried it? I'm asking because I asked about it on here some time ago and all replies said it couldn't be done due to the nature of the fabric.

Hello. Yes I did dye the velour and it seems fine. I'm fortunate to have many GSE seats so if it does go tits up it won't be an issue.
I have used a trade aerosol dye. Two coats seem sufficient. Better than the badly sun bleached velour.

Let me know how it works out. If all goes well let me know what you used as mine are in need of a bit of rebrowning.

So. With a Saturday afternoon at my disposal, I've pulled the drivers seat out for some titivaterising. The outer side of the base needed the cushion fixing before the frame wire through the fabric. Thanks to Recaro this is a 5 minute job. Too quick for me to take pictures! After some maskery I dyed the seat fabric. See the difference. Much nicer. Seems to take to the velour absolutely fine. Fingers crossed. Sent from my cup of tea using proboards

Seats are still black However. While giving the lower regions a blow off with the air line, a couple of small holes appeared. I popped the sill trims off and you all know what happens now. Structure was fine but the front ends of both sills needed a bit of metal. While I had the metal joiner togetherer out, I had a look at the rear lower quarter. That needed a patch..... In other news. The front wings appeared to be the originals and showed no evidence of having been removed. Sadly, due to the bottoms dropping off them, I've had to put a pair of wings on. Still, imminent respray.
