I recently watched the latest F&F movie and came to the conclusion my favourite car in it was the Jensen driven by Michelle Rodriguez (Letty). Here are photos of the car in question: and some eye candy: Anyway, I got to thinking if this look could be so successful and the basic front engined, RWD arrangement could be made modern and effective (as done by many US customisers like Chip Foose in Overhaulin) then what other old shcool brit cars could be upgraded in this way? My first idea followed on from the Interceptor. The body style is similar, it's RWD and the setup allows for a V8. I give you the Reliant Scimitar GTE: And one thats had a little work: A set of wheels and sensible lowering transforms the look of these cars, as it seems to do with most decent oldschool Yank tin. I wonder how much of a brit muscle car a GTE could actually be and also what other brit cars of the 60's/70's would fit the F&F mould? Suggestions......

Nice idea, the vehicle appears to me to take most of its styling cues from Ealanor from Gone in 60 Seconds:

It's not British, but the first car I thought of was the XA/XB Ford Falcon Coupe, but I think a 70s Bristol would be another good choice.

Both the above are great observations.
I think in the UK we haven't yet worked out this look of modern rims, brakes and drivetrain in a slightly played with Brit body.
The GTE attracted me because of its traditional layout, ability for drivetrain upgrades and lightweight body. I'm sure a modern charged V8 and some mechanical upgrades could turn one into a serious drift machine in the right hands.

Perhaps, I guess its that there are so few quality examples of it on well thought out cars.

A little off-tangent, but if ever there was an F&F-style Jensen Interceptor:

Loving the Interceptor on FF. I think the Scimitar would definitely work. They don't seem to get V8's much though do they? I reckon one with a TVR lump and low on a big set of Torque Thrusts would look the dogs doodads!

I really like the idea of a Scimitar version. Taking a close look at the FF Jensen I am quite disappointed by the quality of the build up close. The panel creases look wobbly, the bonnet is rusty, you can see bog in front of the bonnet in the corner and chips that have been painted over lower down. Good thing I imagine it spends most of the movie going fast

Thought what the he'll at the time, then months after I saw the trailer for FF and it fell into place. This kind of look would be awesome on a scimitar also.

Theres a company already in the UK down in Bambury that modernise Jensen Interceptors already, as far as I know they build them with corvette V8s and uprated custom bilstein suspension and modern brakes etc. The name of the company evades me but their tuning side is called Angel Tuning. I know this as me and a friend went down to Angel to get a remap for his diesel Leon, and they showed us the Jensen side of the workshop... EDIT found it! They call them the Jensen Interceptor R www.jensen-sales.com/

Michelle Rodriguez maks any car look good really, but that Interceptor does have potential.

I reckon the much maligned Scimitar has bucket loads of potential, which is why I bought one.

I also think Scimitars are lovely looking motors with a massive amount of potential. The only reason I've never owned one is they're a bit juicy for the amount of miles I do. I ahven't actually watched the latest F&F movie yet.
