Hey guys! Spend my term time down in Brighton and have unfortunately lost any chances of parking this year. Landy's going to be tucked up in the garden, home in essex, but i'm looking for somewhere to store/ work on my Capri. Another mate of mine is needing somewhere to put a Mk1 Cortina too (we lost our shared unit in Portslade a couple of months back) so ideally we could do with space for two cars.
Does anyone know of anything within train and bike distance from Brighton that could be available? Well suited to chatting curse word in the pub, getting stuck in with anything else that's there and contributing to the overheads.
Any ideas or offers would be incredible, though i've never really seen anything get mentioned on here before. Cheers!

Also looking for somewhere around West Sussex. We have a collective of 5 people / 6 cars and one chap looking to work out of the unit full time.

sounds like there is a market for this why not join forces and see if there is something that you can all share and of course share the costs, there more of you the cheaper it gets. Look at old farms and ind est

I'm probably a bit far away for this one but if you find something on the Tunbridge Wells side of Brighton I'd be interested too. There's been a thread going for ages to find one in West Kent but I think everyone's given up. There's simply nothing around this area unless you're lucky or have very deep pockets.
Skoze, take it you're at Uni? Sussex or Brighton? I was at Sussex a few years ago.

I'd be interested in getting involved in a place to the west of Brighton. Current situation is 8 cars in nice secure storage but nowhere to work on 'em and restricted access hours. Could contribute £300 per month for a suitable place.

Little bump here! Anyone still looking? I'd quite happily settle for just some secure parking at the moment, if there was a bit of space to roll out and climb under it that'd do me fine. Skoze, take it you're at Uni? Sussex or Brighton? I was at Sussex a few years ago. And yeah man, at Brighton studying Graphic Design - was blessed with some secure parking for both the Landy and the Capri last year, got nothing now. Not ideal!

Good to see some interest in this area... will keep eyes open for somewhere suitable for a shared unit.

I have seen some units in Neahaven where I get my bike MOT. Super shabby area, brilliant location as lots of other traders there, so a real community.
I currently pay for storage, so what o you Reckon we have if all clubbd together.
Newhaven rocks, is easily accessible and cheap!

Wouldn't be bad at all, that - it's out of the way but seems fairly accessible by train from here. What kind of units are there? Got power, hard standing etc or more just useful for storage?

All units are old factory units with hard stands, cheap location, cheap area, served well by trains, the lockup I was looking at was next to a garage that tuned Skylines, had space fr loads of cars. Would really make a good community space .... I am pickup up my bike from MOT on Tuesday so will look and ask at prices....it is th rates. Am more concerned with, rents are cheap

Agree with Boostwagon, how many can we fit in there and what have we got access to?

Sounds promising... a bit of a trek for me, but if it's secure and access is available 24/7 for 'working' (obviously no excessive noise after a reasonable hour - don't want to annoy any neighbours!) then I'm interested. As above, a bit more detail when you have it please (o:
ps. - two mates interested in 'part time' use of a unit for tinkering and social, but no storage required, and another who may take a storage space... don't think that filling the space will be a problem if the location / access / price is right
