When I was a kid the irish post office use this as post vans and now you never see them
I do know where one of these is sitting I think its a turbo one two I did ask about it a few years back and it wasn't for sale

not much being going on with this, sat tucked up dry and warm in the garage. though ive fitted up some yellow fogs   also been plodding along collecting some bits, wiring loom and sensors. having a few bits made custom. Custom modified flywheel   also cut up an oldinlet manifold for the flanges  can anyone guess what direction I'm going with here.....? |

I'd say bike carbs if I had to guess. I think those yellow fogs are not so easy to find anymore? Or is it just particular models... Anyway, they're a nice touch! And still wondering why it's a "Le Car", imported from states or got the decal set? And why all the carpets under the engine  |

I'd say bike carbs if I had to guess. Plus one! I love ALL Renault 5s! my dad used to do pretty much everything associated with them back in the mid 90s-00s Beautiful car bud |

Nope flanges to make an inlet manifold for efi.
The le car 2 was the last of the line made in 85 only to use up the last shells and then fitted with the gordini turbo engine.
Carpets were there for storage lol I use then to kneel on when tinkering on the cars

i have sent you a pm, need to get this moving again, been sat collecting dust in the garage for too long.
started tinkering again recently, fresh turbo is nearly ready to go back on, just trying to find 2 gaskets that are unavailable at the moment. groupe 2 omp replica strut brace is now in position and ready to be fitted, though some of the coolant pipework will need a tweak to go back in, but it hopefully should stiffen her up a little.

oh and on the styling side of things ive managed to nab some allycat alloys in ford fitment 13x6. hopefully they will fit under the arches though this will require all 4 hubs to be re drilled and studded. ive spent months trying to find a decent price set of alloys in the correct fitment and its proving difficult. buying ford ones refurbing them and having the hubs converted will still be less than half the price of a set of alloys in the correct fitment. now i just need to decide on colour? i was thinking polished with a gold center but I'm unsure if that would work?

Love it!!! My first ever car was a 5 Le Car 2 in burgundy, was great little car and i managed to snap both the driveshafts at the same time!! hehe
