Look at it like that and you'll go mad, attempting to dodge the rain right now with a full day off to apply final bog and paint its annoying, needless to say if i ran a repair business like this i'd be bancrupt!
depends whats worth more assesing labour costs, time vs money, whats most costly/important?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm not going to even think about working it what i've spent. Especially if we're including labour time. Oh yeah, and how are we working out the cars value?

*Not just hideous optimism, previous V8 Dolly that was a slushbox and non-EFi went for 2700.

Oh yeah, and how are we working out the cars value? MAybe top ebay prices? In that case not much! For example the MR2 (s) have a variable worth depending whos buying, opportunist entry classics sports car dudes look for unfaded paint and tidy interiors, and hard cor searchers look for grot, and how much it will potentially cost to get how they want it. I guess right now mine is worth sub £500 due toi the slippy clutch and mis match colouring. so its getting fixed and eventually modded, i dare say that summer time if all on one colour it may well return its parts cost to me if i tried to sell.

Rocco, worth about £1200, i guess ive spent around £1300 on it, and about 125 hours work so thats a cost of about £5050
Ghias worth about £4500 as is, maybe £5000 tops in a weeks time. I guess ive spent about £6500 on it so far and about 50 hours work so thats about £8000
At a guess (possibaly some shonky maths there too)

2cv Brought for 1200 (current agreed insurance value 1500) Spent: 1500 About to spend another 1500 on body restoration and new panels So thats minus around 1500 quid going by what its worth, not that I care Although to be honest I'm putting the agreed value up to at least 2.5k after the body and panels.

I'm a realist, my Cressy has cost me about £700, and it's probably worth about £1000 on a good day. I suspect that selling it would be very difficult though - Nightmare's Cressida was very similar to mine and made about £500.

No idea really... in our money, I've had the Alfa dealer tell me the Sud is worth a mere $1200 NZ, but going by sales it'd fetch at least $5000 NZD as it sits. Owes me a smidge under $12000 NZ including the various incarnations of engine, suspension, audio, wheels etc it's had on it over the past 8 years.
The Starlet could potentially fetch around $3000 NZ, these things are appreciating flat out over here, and tidy unmolested ones like mine are most sought after. Owes me about $3900 NZ as it sits.

:)I've never really properly added up what I've spent on my rides and TBH I don't intend to cos I'm not bothered. Apparantly we only live once, and I really enjoy my cars. None of my cars are worth a lot of money, and again I'm really not bothered. 8-)My cars have payed me far more enjoyment than any amount of money could pay for. [Not quite sure if that made sense but I know what I mean! ]

My R31 on the other hand, isn't really even retro but it's not worth much. ;D

My golf owes me alot, even more come easter when i finally tap her with the stick! But I hope to never sell it, therefore I'm inevitably gonna spend a whole lot more on it, and I'm just hoping the 'scene tax' does me well if i do have to sell one day

I'm endevouring to make the Datsun B310 Coupe the most desired of all Datsuns (I don't think I'm winning ) in order to make mega money from it when I sell it ... Frankly I think the car is current worth what I paid for it, mainly because I've done very little to it, and it was pretty perfect to start with. Its possible it'll be worth more than I paid for it when I've 'finished' it.. but probably only by a factor of what I've spent on it. Then again modified cars don't always sell... But its not about that though is it,..
