hey 07lilredwagon, thanks its getting there....vey slowly. Your right this really is the trial and tribulations, lol I didn't really think about it like that but yes your bang on!.
So with that some more woe!
Those Aholes at Northampton Old Skool VW have knocked my wheel! didn't notice till now, van hasn't moved since I brought it back and you can see some red on it so they must of pushed against the sliding door with it open and it crashed into the wheel. Certainly wasn't me. What total pricks.
Anyway, got some lazer cut brackets!
in 10 mim stainless.
because of this
Not sure if it was the zorst wrap that was on it but I definitely don't think it was stainless! only a couple of years old! So need to make the manifolds first, thought about doing it like this but I think it hangs down too low.
So with that I made these.
just need to get some more bends and figure out how the hell I'm gonna route it all around, the olds ones comes round the rear of the engine but I never like that as it sat quite close to some water pipes.
So these are nice and short so when the air bags go in the exhaust wont be hitting the floor!

well, it was nice and sunny the other day so thought I would have a poke around on the van, Still raw from my terrible repair work by old skool vw Northampton I thought I would have a dig round some of their work. They patched a few holes on the rear valance, I thought they were gonna chop out the rust and butt weld in repair section! I was wrong so have a look at this for a laugh! black silicone over tack welds and then painted!
I guess I need a complete rear valance as its pretty bent in the middle as well as the rust.
pics!
So after all that cheered myself up by stickering the back window!
small update to rear brakes, just waiting for the caliper bolts to arrive in the post, then get the steel parts zinc coated and then its done.

my bus had gone on the rear valance, same place, i chopped it out and let bits in, its below the bumper and will get stonechipped anyway so i wasn't that bothered.

Really liking VW vans at the moment. Love the work you've done, especially the dash. Shame those d1ckhead VW 'specialists' came into the equation - at least you have your van back though and can feel good that many people will now specifically avoid them, thanks to your honesty. Onwards and upwards!

Guz yeah they seem to always go in those bits its a shame its so banged about, might need to find a chop as its 250£ for that rear panel!
well got my exhaust welded up by a great guy, after dealing with some ass holes its such a breath of fresh air to find someone honest and skilled! Cant say enough good things about him Olly

brakes finished!
Oh yeah got myself a lock up.
Its in an old army depot.
then bought myself a shell plan was to take everything off of the old van and paint it up and put on new shell.
its super mint underneath but the rest of the van looks like a war zone, must of been a serious battle wagon, will take too much time to make nice! so had this idea.
The ultimate rat van!. but then decided not. So sold the shell. Then decided to break my van as it wasn't doing it for me anymore.
The last ride out!! raised hell for a few hours!

As you can see rear bumper is bent. So had to work out how to take the bumper off! It was pretty tricky with no manual.
bent!!
As its a plastic bumper I'm hoping with a heat gun I can straighten it out. Then straighten the metal support and all should be OK.
Found abit of rust too! Will take care of that before bumper goes back on.
Needed a different slave cylinder.
It was a tricky beast to get the old line off! Had to under the main clutch cylinder to free the line a bit.
I need to wire up the fuel pump relay, not sure of the wiring for that.
Might be here in this bit of old s12 loom.
Needs a different power steering pulley as its a tooth belt and not a v belt.
Also need to wire the alternator up, just gonna put spade connectors on these. Do you reckon it matters which way round they go?
So my plan is to get it running then an MOT then just muck around in it for the summer. Then I will take the engine out and totally smooth out the bay and sort the wiring out properly. AS its really horrible with bits of old loom and unused wires everywhere.
Oh I might lower it too

Hey Stonio, yeah I like your Skoda! Well the van is just sitting there, I need to sell the engine first before I break it. The engine is pretty sweet starts first time on the button everytime.
Will sell the engine together with adapter plate and ecu and loom.

I just looked up the bloke who owns that garage that ruined your van on facebook .Seems to have a lot of nice Vw's so he knows how to do stuff properly .He either bodged and couldnt be bothered or set someone incompetant do it , and didnt want to incurr a cost of rectifying it .His name should be dragged through the mud .

Not sure on prices yet I'm afraid. The van has £1k in brakes on it! so as a whole to get my money back Id need at least 4k for the whole van, so I figured breaking it would be the easiest thing, has a rebuilt gearbox with a freeway flyer 4th gear in so good mpg.
just the body is bad with bad repairs.

That red one looks like its loaded with filler , but i looked on his own page and his vws look straight as a die . I'm no body man but i think thats how a lot of people operate now , quick metal 'repair' than use filler to get the shaperather than just a little where needed .
Clucking kanwers .

Ah, didn't realise you were on here Paul! Nice little purchase there, I'll keep an eye out for your for sale threads, mind you I reckon 4k for the van is a reasonable sum, maybe you should try selling it whole first?
