Hi folks. I need to research some rear lamp options. The back end of my dolomite is being deseamed and potentially debumpered, and the original lamps are going to look huge after that. Much like this: As you can see, chevette lights are popular but I still think they're a bit big, and I'd rather not have a reversing lamp. I tried some 70s trailer lamps, which are an improvement, I think anyway. Cant actually find any 70s trailer lamps though, and new ones are hideous. So what cars do you recon I could lift some out of? Preferably something that isnt too difficult to get hold of! Cheers for reading, hope you don't think I've gone insane...

The ones fitted to the blue one at the top are from a Vauxhall Chevette.

I saw a thing if beauty the other day. It was a nissan pick up truck with 1993 Cadillac rear lights, this was a US model though so you'd need to sort out additional lights that aren't included. Just indicators? In my cube I have LED clusters from Car Builder Solutions in the rear window.

Hillman Hunter (?aston DBS) used smaller rear lights that are a similar shape. ;-)

I'd like to keep it similar styling to the trailer lights though, I'm trying to give it a more italian look, almost a bit lancia in its own way. Anything along those lines at all?

Sorry, I didn't notice your bit of writing in the middle of your post. What about Mk1 Capri rears?

Could be an idea, dependent on size, anyone got any measurements? Had a google but no luck.
Keep firing away though, something better might well be suggested!

The unknown ebay ones could be Renault 8 lamps

Renault 8 is the ones yeah! they look ok, but they don't seem to exist on UK ebay.
Thus far, mk1 escort lights are winning due to the fact i can get hold of some pretty easily even though they're a tad on the pricey side.
Anymore for anymore?

How about something round like this? Sort of a'la Lancia 037? Maybe not. These are nice tooOr maybe you could do something a bit bigger and try and arrange them like a 131? The ones in the OP make the car look a bit like a DAF.

I've always liked these lamps: which are also on this: (best Ferrari ever, the Nembo Spyder) and quite a few other cars from the 60's and early 70's. Perhaps twin lamps on each side would look even better.

A lot of the buses have round LED lamps round our way, with a chrome trim ring on they could look great and nice and bright at night.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

To be clear, i want oblong lights like i said up there!
Something of similar shape and size to the trailer lights i offered up, but not trailer lights and fairly easy to get hold of.
Best suggestions thus far are mk1 capri/escort and hillman hunter.
I don't wish for that to sound rude at all, but i want them to fit in the original location and i think round lights would look a bit daft.
