WOW. They must be like proper poor quality wobbly children's play pony turd in the UK!!! Excellent aquisition. I think that if you end up needing bits you are gonna have to break out the 'tricoloure' books and do some revision!! Oh and get a eurostar season ticket.

Shortcut would your man for advice. I had one the very last saloons ('76) years ago, and rust will always be the main issue. I was driving mine on the M4 and the bonnet flew open - the catch surrounds had corroded. My car was economical, quite fast and like most old frenchies handled well. If its was a late one it will have the same 1127cc as the 304, which is just as rare, but the earlier ones had the now long obslete 1130cc.
First off check the suspension mounts and check those valves too!
I think we really need to see pictures, I am a huge fan of these cars!

Yowser! Don't think i've ever seen one of those evAr! I'm seeing lots of potential but I don't have photoshop But i'm seeing a Barris style doorknob grille, matt black paint, red steels and whitewalls for some reason! Or, what about doing it in a simular style to 'that' Renner 4? The light blue Gordini style one? Can't find a pic of it right this second, but I bet someone has one to hand.

That looks pretty solid.....such was the 204's reputation for oxidising before your very eves (my dad had a similarly-aged 504 Familiale that was completely and utterly rotten by the time it was 10 years old...), I've no doubt that all the extremely rusty ones have crumbled away to nothing now, looks like you've got a good 'un there.

That is an amazing find. Great stuff! A 304 is cool enough but a 204? if UK survivors manage to crack double figures i'll eat my chapeau.
