And well as paying the scammers £40 will then get fined by the DVLA for not Sorning properly Bar Stewards ...and they think they have a sense of humour too! The company behind it is Caveat Viator Ltd, which is Latin for 'Travellers Beware'. Double bar stewards. They need a dose of this

So it's a site offering to sort your SORN needs for £40?
If that's the case then there isn't a problem. They are no different from accountants.

At least they are honest about it "With our assisted service we can help apply for a number of services including a refund of vehicle tax, duplicate tax disc, V5C / Vehicle Logbook and Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). These services are available through the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) by postal application and also through the official website at www.direct.gov.uk. Some services incur a charge via the official site whilst others are free. "

Put a fake credit card number in and it doesn't recognise it. They have a disclaimer at the bottom as well.

But you would be 100% daft to use it, should you read the very clear warning on the site

There was a story on you and yours yesterday about a website that charges you to fill in a form for a driving license too, I guess they just pay to get to the top of the google hit list.

Oh come on, anyone using that instead of just doing it through DVLA deservs to loose £40! if you buy a car it's down to YOU to find out the correct way to deal with the issues that come with car ownership, anyone who needs to sorn a car should already know how to do it, the reminder does after all tell you where and how to do it !!! i have one here in front of me and the instruction are quite clear, ignor them at you own cost (that cost being £40) That sort of site is there to catch out idiots and not suprising as there are so many about

Some of the more silver surfers can get caught out on stuff like this and the insurance card. It's sad but just think how much they are making just casting this net and collecting money from those not questioning it, prob quite a lot.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Why is it sad ? cos people are stupid or cos the site punishes stupidity? You need the sorn document to sorn a vehical (to use the code on the form) 10mm above that code is the web addy for the DVLA and their phone number, now if a "silver sufer" can't see that then TBH i don't want em on the road so finding out they have just lost £40 should be the kick in the pants to take notice or give up driving IMHO.
