Today was the NSRA Swapmeet. Went over in the Prozac-Mobile retrorides.proboards.com/thread/195715/grizz-prozac-soul-citroen-berlingo as you never know what you may find. Met up with CraigRK, mate Martin and saw a load of other guys including Slammedcustom from GarageJournal.com Awesome day. First the one that got away. £20.00 would buy this little tool. I decided to let it ride on chance and go look once we had seen everything, if it was still there, then I would pay the £20.00 asked. My mistake.as it was of course gone, Kev From Wales had seen it go an hour before I returned. Bought these bits, some random, some not. Set of auxiliary gauges from Dez on here for the truck, and later a chrome carrier for them. The cast iron is planned for a Russian style Cross. Number plate is one I do not have at all. Some decent screw drivers and a super sharp scraper type tool I am sure someone will know exactly what it is. Also a Corvette badge that cost me all of 10p So all in a good day, the Berlingo also behaved as well as expected. When I got home it was raining, so no chance to fit the silencer or any of the tinting. Ended up with a glass of wine and some recoded Sky History.

Thoroughly fascinating - have read the whole thread - dealing with life's ups and downs etc etc. Thank you for sharing. Love your truck and looking forward to seeing it back on the road in due course (even though you seem to keep sidetracking yourself with other potential projects ). How have you found parts availability? I'm in the market for a late 60's/early 70's truck and would really appreciate any advice you can share. Thanks in advance.

Bit of almost truck action today. Bootfair just started, so always on the lookout for stuff I like or want or may even need. This lot...... Included some healthy plants at £2.50 each for some work I am currently doing in the garden (report some time soon) Also a large checkered flag.... £1.00 A bass drum pedal and its pedestal for £1.00 This is certainly truck related....... I want to use the pedal as an accelerator pedal for the truck. I always love the cast ally pedals, but they are silly prices, so plan B comes into play. I also got a large unopened pack of split pins for £2.00 Also from the same seller a tub of 100 hand cleaner scrubby towel things for £2.00 surely a bargain too. And a bag of nails for the shed I am building currently, to be reported on some time in the future. And a nice unused three hook coat hook, key hook for £2.00 Some punches for mate CraigRK at £2.00 And most randomly, a selection of drinking glasses at 20p each, some will be off to friends elesewhere, but I get to keep two, Katy gets one etc. Prices have certainly gone up at bootfair, and there is less choice stuff, but there is still the odd gem if you take the time to look around. Another bootfair tomorrow.

With both of us needing some inspiration to get back to our American vehicles, on Friday grizz and I went to Surrey Wheels Day Here's a gratuitous selfie of the intrepid duo just after parking up and about to venture out upon the field. Between us we took a few pictures as have many others, you can see these all by clicking this link: Surrey Wheels Day 2017 - Grizz & CraigRK's Pics. Hopefully there are some pics in there to inspire the rest of you!!!

Built a shed for the overflow of the garage and driveway in order to get back to the trucks resto. Thread here: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/197231/8x6x7x8-building-taj-mahal-overflowKaty asked for a Lopper for her garden £2.00, she bought a new gas BBQ a few weeks ago, so new fish griller and sausage holder for £1.00 and a new, pretty rubbish bin for her daughters room at £1.00 was her wins while she stayed home in bed. I found another drum pedal, looks new and unused, with electric switchgear inside, perfect for truck gas pedal converting. Also a set of 4 new VW alloy centre caps for 50p A Hozelock garden sprayer for £1.00 (I have one and gave me spare to Katy last weekend as she did not have one. Bought some McDonalds Bacon and Cheese flatbreads for brekkie on the way back and had them on the deck with Katy before she left for her home by 09.15 as her one daughter is home for the weekend and she has a family get together today. Not bootfair related, but started clearing up in front of garage yesterday, cutting and chopping a load of wood into kindling and packing it away after cutting and clearing the front and one side hedge. Went from this...... To this by late afternoon around 18.00 Hope to get the rest cleared today. Amazing how time flies when you get distracted. Got rained out twice yesterday too.

Added a small overhang to the front of the shed this morning. And tonight as a last job I changed the wooden ramp for a cement one. Mainly to make access easy but also to keep any potential rain out. Job done as far as clearing out front of garage. Once the garden tools are out of this cabinet, it will get moved and my dummy petrol pump will go into this space. Weekend over, knackered. Thanks for looking in.

Rian what have you been up to!!! Saw the scrap outside your place on the way home I thought you never threw anything away!!! Ahhhh Dan. You saw my pain..... I really had to be quite brutal. You mean this little display....? Of course you know who is going to collect this stuff. I actually added a load more stuff after this photo, I was chatting with Dennis in St Louis as he was busy rebuilding a petrol pump. He just texted to say they were off to race tonight. One of the three Sprint cars he runs for his son to race. I did try give a lot of this stuff away before throwing it out.

If it's not too late Rian I would like one of the beer kegs!! P. Sorry Paul, they had long gone to their new owner. If you need me to keep an eye open I will. Those were found fly tipped and very dirty years ago. THE GERMANS ARE COMING...!!! The Germans are coming .... !!!! These words could mean a lot of things. However in this context it's all good. My home has always been an open house, as long as you respected the cat and carpets. So when Thorsten, Michael and Ralf all messaged me one evening a few months ago to reserve a spot on the sofa, floor, spare beds or tent space on the lawn for the Classic Ford weekend at Santa Pod. I was chuffed to bits as we all get on really well, and it has been a few years since the last time they all slept over, then as a gang of five. Unfortunately the spare rooms were taken already by two contractors I have lodging here for a few weeks. We all met about 10 years ago or more when I had my Taunus Transit. LINK: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/37192/1963-taunus-transit-fk1250-samsSo last night Harley and Duke had visitors, and loved it, as all three guys are animal and cat lovers. With military precision, they arrived at 7.00pm and all reversed down the drive with Harley watching from a safe distance. Front to rear....... Thörsten with his Lotus Cortina replica (started life as a 4 Door Saloon CRAZY BUILD THREAD: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/114260/1964-cortina-deluxe-doors-youtube ) then Ralf with his 3.0 litre Granada Ghia and at the rear Michael with his 2.8 litre Ghia These cars are all immaculate but used very regularly. I just need to mention that these guys are all TALL and I am 1.83m but look at me next to Michael, it always feels so weird spending time with them all. As usual they all bring me treats and I would not be surprised if it was a little competition. Dried sausage or salami from Michael and Ralf's home village butchers, and I have tried them both, just awesome and Thorsten is a bread buff, so some pretty special bread from him too. There are always various German beers to be sampled, and I made them drink all the cold Bud Lights in my fridge while their beers chilled in the freezer. These things are generous gifts and I guess many of us do stuff like that, but it always makes me smile. The guys also brought me some of their German BBQ briquettes as we find that it is a better quality than what I can get here. When I went to look in the shed this morning, I was honestly shocked as I never saw them unpack the bags last night. 45kg of pure heat..... Thanks Guys!! After an extended BBQ and Beer session last night we all crashed after 11pm, keep in mind they had driven over 400 miles to get here last night. Unfortunately I was awake at 04.10 and after keeping quiet for some time, went downstairs and closed the doors where they were sleeping and had a couple of mugs of tea, by 06.00 I was sweeping the garage driveway and the new shed, which was when I discovered all the BBQ coal stockpile. I also had some time to really just enjoy looking at the three cars on the drive. Thorsten' Cortina Michael's Ford Granada. Ralf's Ford Granada. I then continued to clean the garage, assemble my new to me Engine stand, which I am very pleased with and move stuff around till 08.00 when the guys were up and getting ready to go to Santa Pod. They will be back again on Sunday evening to sleep over before heading to their various homes in German. Today it's out with Prozac again to do some collections and delivery of stuff.

More disappointment, I thought we were in for full on Grupdate Sorry to disappoint. If you were living my life right now, we may have found you in the garage with a rope around your neck dangling. This $#!7 will come right, we all respond differently to life's little challenges. In clearing up the garage and moving stuff about, I also decided to get rid of the Raleigh Shopped Hotrod bike I did last year and around 9am Mickey came around for a cuppa as he does some days. Saw the bike and commented, so I said "You want it?" And his eyes lit up. Straight onto it and off he went. Happy guy. By 07.00 this morning I had cleared out a large part more of the garage as well, and had a cat helper. Assembled my new to me engine stand By 11.00 I had done enough and had to head into town. Very pleased with the state of thia garage. Truck chassis can now roll out again as long as I move the bike and upright compressor. So a decent result all in all.
