Up for sale is my big v8 Tonka truck!
It started life as a range rover but now has a Tata pickup body mounted onto the chassis, it is now registered as a yellow Range Rover, light 4x4 utility vehicle.
Its big, its yellow, its a v8, its great fun!
Tax and test till I believe the end of September.
The rear has been raised with a medium 2" terra firma spring and damper lift kit and is running reverse steel wheels (discovery steel wheels have flat mounting faces so can be turned around) this has helped loads with stability!
Comes with a LPG kit but I never got round to fitting it, it now has a 4.5 Gallon petrol tank fitted (LPG tank was going where the original tank is, only does 65/70 miles to a tank) but both the original fuel tank and the LPG tank will be supplied.
I bought it as a weekend toy and to help me do tip runs as I have been doing a lot of house work, it has been extremely useful! I would happily put a ton in the back without problem.
There are a few problems that I never got round to fixing but it still runs fine;
- There seems to be some kind of earthing problem because the fuel and temperature gauges work when they want to (I began stripping the dash to investigate but never got round to finishing) .
- Again I believe it to be a earthing problem because the indicators can be temperamental.
- I believe it is running a little rich but its been running fine!
- The speedo doesn't work, I actually think the speedo cable is cable tied underneath the car!
All in all it is great fun and a real head turner! Its abit rough and ready but apart from running out of fuel twice ive never had any problems with it!
I shouldn't say I am open to swaps as I ideally need the money and I'm meant to be cutting down but if something I like is offered! haha
Collection from Portchester, Hampshire.
Thanks Jack
