Bumbled across this today on a thread on our forum - which rapidly degenerated into a "hideous colours thread", along with a list of those that aren't so common any more.
This was the initial candidate - a tundra green (I think) Maxi.
Must have had someone who wasn't quite right in the head walking into a showroom and ordering that colour.....
But it got me thinking - is it really that bad?
So........out come the sprayguns:
And voila!
Now, I'm not entirely convinced but it does kind of work - reminds me slightly of a metallic version of "that" RX7
So, I was wondering - what other colours have sunk into the history books and disappeared when there were some fantastic shades out there. Anyone have any candidates? I know colours to some degree suit cars depending on their styling but still...
I'd love to see what rich, stylised, or just plain different colours there were..
Makes an interesting change from some of the stereotypical usual modern colour schemes at least:
Old English White: I like the dirty look
Rover did one that looked like Grey Primer: forgot to paint it
Black: I Like washing my car
Silver (any): Because i'm different
Red (any older type paint): Can't get enough T-cut
White: Quick, it's the fuzz!
Dark Blue: FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
Some modern manufacturers seem to be trying to jazz stuff up again, like with the ST:
But in real life they all look quite plain IHMO...........
So yes, different and interesting colours! What ya got?!
