A stylish companion thread to the Ibiza one, here we have another neat, ruler straight boxy `80s motor that people liked well enough back in the day, but is now in clear and present danger of vamoosing from UK roads for good! Anyone looking to work their magic on something thats off the track that people take when they want to go off the beaten track, act swiftly! An image is provided to entice and inspire!

I like very much whats been done to the pic. Lets see if one of us can take in a waif `n`stray for ale money, pref. garaged all its natural by the proverbial old kid so it isnt too rotten.
Glad someone provided a classic moment in british comedy when hairnet said it was a weekend.

These must be nigh-on extinct. Weren't alot of them twink-powered too? I'll take mine in 'weekend' flavour... ...purely because of that bizzarre rear bumper - you could fold down the centre section to allow a 'flat floor entry' to the boot, or have it up for a 'lift it over the lip' loading style. WHY!?

Glad someone provided a classic moment in british comedy when hairnet said it was a weekend. Boom-tish! I'm here all weekend. Try the fish! Anyway... never really looked at the design of them, always had them in the back of my mind as boring and dull. Now its been mentioned though, that rear arch is brilliant, just looks like the designer put it in to be a bit flash and nobody noticed, ended up in the final product.

I think they are fugly! I thnk I like the earlier one (as pictured by vicsmith) rather than the later 'retro mat' shape, only really the doorskins and front side windows that are different though.

Regata's were pants when they were new the 70 models were underpowered, the 85 models all suffered from carb problems if somebody has the "erge" to buy one of these then atleast search out a 100 model which has the twin cam Lampredi unit in 1.6 guise, or the 1.9TD is the best of the bunch

The 100 did Although back in the day I was going to tuck a 2.0 turbo in a jade green w/end I had but I was talked out of it by my fellow FIAT co workers ;D I didnt actually take that much persuading Also to perspective buyers; try to find a later 87> facelift model as they seemed to be screwed together better And if you ever own one you can tell your mates that is shares the same platform as an Integrale lol...
