Not sure if the E46 can be classed as retro yet? If not then feel free to delete the thread I've just picked up a E46 318CI, its not the quickest but its nice to drive a good on fuel, (Still think I prefer the E36 though, Time will tell!!) its totally standard at the moment and I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet, I don't really want to go down the 330 sport look-a-like, so I'm a little stuck for idea's which is where you guys come in!!! I've had a really quick look on google but nothing really stood out A few pics of mine [/URL]

That looks very mint!
I'm not sure if I would modify that.
Otherwise, a good looking recipe is Style 5, slight stretched tyres and coilovers. Although quite common.
I find e46fanatics quite a nice source of information.

Cute car! I've always thought this is a car that could be done in a classy-but-understated way rather than sporty. Find suitable OEM wheels from another manufacturer, maybe Jaguar or something, in not too big a diameter and with tyres that have some sidewall. Then a little lowering but while still making the car look comfortable; I'm not saying lowered isn't comfortable, just that going too low will make it too sporty. Perhaps proceed on to decluttering the lines a little (changing the door mirrors, etc), perhaps enhance the interior with wood, metal and leather (perhaps a little contrasting fabric here and there, doorcards maybe).
That'd give you a discreet but distinctive car, the E46 always seemed like a good basis for that.
