On the 20th-23rd April 2007, myself and my pal Jay will be setting off on an unknown 1500 mile journey around Europe, in our 1988 Nissan Bluebird Turbo, in the Scumball 3000 Rally 2007.
Around 70 other teams are competing, so it will be quite an experience that I'm really looking forward to!
As well as trying not to kill ourselves or get nabbed by the Eurocops, we are also raising money for the Scumball designated charity for 2007, Winston’s Wish.
“Winston's Wish helps bereaved children and young people rebuild their lives after a family death. We offer practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child.”
Part of our entry requirements is that we raise £500 as a team to support this worthy charity, but I’ve upped the ante and hope to raise £1000.
You can donate to our team fund via our webpage on the Just Giving Website, clicking this link will take you directly to the Team Turbobrick donations page.
I hope you’ll find 5 minutes to sponsor with whatever cash you can spare, for this worthy cause, even if it is as a good luck charm to stop us blowing a turbo in the middle of the Alps. Any funds that help us reach our target are greatly appreciated, and you’ll be able to track our progress on the Scumball 3000 website throughout the Rally, as some of the cars will be fitted with Tracking Systems.
The Rally will be televised later in the year on Men and Motors, and a DVD will also be available, so I might even get my mug on the telly.
I’ll keep you updated on this thread about our preparations for the car and for the race.
Thanks in advance for all your support!
