A while ago I wanted to buy a cheap car to do some drifting. So I had to find a rear wheel drive car that was cheap and had a bit of power. And over here in holland the normale bmw e30 things go for more then 1k or they are in real bad condition. And then after searching for 6 months I found this thing. But after welding the diff we found out the normal 100 hp 2.0S engine wasnt powerfull enough even with some smart car tires(155 wide). So we need more power. And I wanted to try somthing new for me, so I bought a eaton from a 2009 mercedes. And then I found out my accelerator pump on my original varajet 2 carb was a bit curse word. And since I took the carb 10 times apart allready I didnt want to fix it. So I just bought a set of twin bike carbs, might be a bit small but we will see. Now I'm working on making some flanges. And I still need to find a 115mm(about 4 inch) serpentinebelt(?) pulley that I can get on to my crankshaft. Then I can finish my brackets. So if someone knows a car type that has a 115mm pulley on it, could be on the waterpump or on the steeringpump or whatever then tell me please. And if anyone got some other tips and things for me I would like to hear that too.

A vauxhall omega 2.0 crankshaft pully is what you want, kepp us up to date with how it all works on the bike carbs

The engine will be an xev as for fitting the manta engine I'm not sure!

Varajet 2 is the DEVILS OWN invention, and all of those carbs should be destroyed on sight, hehe.... Looking forward to see how this progresses!

Found a 115mm pulley of. Got a waterpump pulley of a frogeye scorpio 2.016v engine. I think i will get this to fit in front of the orginal crank pulley so the waterpump and alternator stay on a old v belt system. But now the project is back on a hold till i get the clutch of my 106 turbo replaced. Should be done tomorrow, but its a french car so it could take a lot longer.

if you are going to fit a seperate belt for the Charger, I'd look into getting a cambelt sprocket to fit and then have a toothed belt for no slippage then ;D Otherwise, loving the looks of this project

I got that on my polo g40, sound is awesome and stuff. But risse sells a kit to put it on the waterpump alternator and crankshaft, and that is around 200 euro allready. And then i need to find a right size sprocket thing for met eaton and a belt that will fit. I think that all together would be another 400 euro. Thats allmost the same what i paid for the whole car. I would rather just grab a volvo 940 turbo engine and put it in there then. I have 1 spare from my other project. And i know i can get around 300 crank hp out of them without spending big money. But i think its to much work for a car to drift till its broken and then scrap.

Got the pulley on there for now, still need to wel it on the original pulley. And then i aligned the eaton and welded it a bit so it wil stay there. Now i need to finish the welding on the front mount of the charger and then make 1 for the back.

Worked on this thing today again. Got the mounts all done and was working on finishing the piping from the charger to the inlet manifold. And then I realised I built it all the wrong way. This way the supercharger wil be turning te wrong way, so it will blow out the inlet side. But my solution is to put 2 pulleys, 1 above it and 1 under it and then run a double sided belt. So it wil go from the crankshaft to pulley 1, then around that and with the back of the belt over the supercharger pulley and then over the next pulley. And thats what I made this evening, but I need 1 more pulley for that, and another 1 for the tensioning. And then this happend, but thats what happens with all my opels, the bonnet wont close anymore. But I will fix that tomorrow with the anglegrinder.

Got on with this again. Rewelded the flange for the supercharger to make sure it has no leaks. And then machined it to make it flat again. Also got my tensioner pulleys today. And then i fitted the carburettors to try if it would fit like this, but i have to shorten the big pipe a bit because i have to cut to much out of the hood this way. And orderd a belt for it today, should be here tomorrow, and then i can try if it runs.

Proper home-brew, nice! This is doing nothing for my thoughts about supercharging the Capri...

A capri v6 should be easy to supercharg i think, you can just put the supercharger on top of the engine, should be a lot easier then this build.

Got everything mounted with gaskets and stuff. And the belt is on there too. I also tig welded the flange of the carburettors on, so thats ready to go on and then get the throttle cable and feul line connect and try if it wil fire up.

Got it running today(sort of). But i got a huge air leak between the carburettors and then supercharger and for some reason the carburettors keep leaking petrol when i hook them up to the pump. But i think the dawndraft bike carbs should be able to work under this angle.

Well done for getting this far, now it's just sorting out the snags, the bit I enjoy most of all.

I know by now that it would have been a lot easier to go turbo. But i have done some turbo builds before and wanted a little challenge. And i think a supercharger would be better for drifting because of the instant power. But i think i need to redesign my tension pulley system because it looks like they bend when the tension gets on them. But i don't really know how i could make it a lot stronger without making it very heavy or expensive.
