A few pics from a scrapyard local to me (Earlswood), unusually some interesting stuff in there - so thought I'd share! Apologies for the god-awful camera phone... Metro City:  Austin Princess:  Princess Interior:  Tidy Skoda Favorit for sale (He wanted around £150, 2 months ago!!):   Pass... wreck...  But the best... a Honda Quintet for sale (never even knew about these!), suprisngly VERY tidy by the looks of it - no significant rust I could see:  |

Portway can be a good place to visit, but the guy there is very miserable and they often crush anything old. Copes have stuff sitting around for decades.

I avoid Portway at all costs, I can't be dealing with them tossers after previous experiences!! It's actually really changed recently - and they have less cars in  |

Truck is a BMC FG-series, commonly known as the 'Threepenny-Bit' cab (the designers called it 'Angle-Planned') which supposedly made it safer for drivers to get in and out.....plus all that extra glass gave a decent view of the kerb.
Were in production from about 1960 until 1979, so might not be as old as it first appears....though I think I remember seeing that at Cope's years ago.

Ah, my old Skoda Estelle sadly joined the wrecks at Copes a few years back (1998).

Funny you should say that, I saw an old Skoda Rapid/Estelle alloy wheel hanging about.... The yard is here... maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=B94+5LL&ie=UTF8&z=16&om=1The Favorit is really good value tbh, I reckon it might need a tyre or two - the only rust I could spot is a bit starting on the rear arch and the tailgate (usual places!). |

That wrecked BMC truck is a donor to keep his road going truck on the road. He carries two scrappers on the truck stacked on top of each other and two on a car trailer stacked. Hes a familiar sight chugging about Birmingham!

The one by the lake is Micky Merrels place. Id forgotten about that, its pretty good too. I once NEARLY bought a complete mercury capri (read ford mustang) for £50 5 years ago or so. Good body, lumpy engine and on sierra wheels. Think it was a 1985 model. Mickys a good bloke but beware of the dog! Saying that I havent been there for years.
