Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 automatic these were made for Japan but the order was cancelled so some ended up in the UK. They have a detuned 1.9 engine 105bhp, 1.6gti rear drum brakes and 1.6gti cloth seats Needs some tlc Washed it I've sorted the bits for mot rear exhaust, n/s headlight len loose, 2 bulbs, wipers, washers inop, front discs and pads. Sorted the interior fan, fitted a cd player that works and some broken bits in the interior The cloth seats have worn as well as the side foam now replaced with half leather and collect some 1.9 alloys 2mor for it. Still need to service it, cam belt, get new bonnet hinge, s/hand black bonnet and tailgate

1 of 400 of the cancelled order. Good spot with the auto bonnet. Don't these have AC? Looks like it has a phase 1 / 1.5 bumper as although it's faded the black ones (phase 2) never go as grey as that. www.205gtidrivers.com

The reason for the spot on the bonnet is i remember in my boy racer days of the 90s that a lot of automatic bonnets were pilfered off cars for fitting over Mi16 conversions as there was a bit more clearance :-)

Have tried joining the 205gtidrivers.com but comes up saying not taking new members I am sure I used to be registered on there but again I can't sign up either. Am coming up to 10 years ownership with mine, it started life as a lowly 1.6 gti. 3 engines, 2 suspension sets, lots of body work inc Dimma kit, 8 sets of wheels, 3 interior set ups, 5 audio set ups and numerous other things later its been sat in the garage for nearly 8 years. But bit the bullet and decided its time to do something with it.....

It's good to see something a little interesting. I was under the impression that the only 1.9 GTis Peugeot made were called the Gentry.

Picked up s/hand bonnet in black today not mint but loads better than what's on it. Also collected 1.9 alloys for it. I don't have again spare time this week to work on it so hoping to fit bonnet and mop then polish it plus full service in a few weeks.

Peugeot should see you straight on the hoses. If your hoses are anything like mine were I would replace the lot. After starting with replacing just one hose (lower 90 o hose going from the rad to the metal pipe (which can corrode badly)) none of my matrix hoses looked clever in addition to the ones going to the throttle body and header tank. Of course, one of them going at an awkward time could be awkward and AFAIK Peugeot no longer stock the matrix hoses. It may be a good idea to go with a set of silicon hoses from Baker BBM or Miles at PugRacing . I certainly wish I did with the breather hoses (I changed two, and the rest fell apart one by one all causing strange (and annoying!) running issues due to vacuum leaks).

Yeah the one on the drivers side inner wing, sure they were made out of rusted metal.
Mine went when we were a road trip so we made a bit up out of a Robin Reliant exhaust, still in there now working perfect 7 years on.

You see, every car has its uses . A breather hose went on the 205 on the road trip, in Brussels during rush hour. Despite the roads being crazy to drive on, having no natural idle only compounded the problems (Gaffer tape only cured the issue for so long)!

a rather common misconception that all auto's have that bonnet, only the carburetted and SPI's 1.6 autos have them, any other auto has standard injection manifold and doesn't need the bulge.
pretty amusing when many hunt down the "auto" bonnet for more engine clearance, when they require more frontal clearance and don't gain any at all due to the location
