Just my fingers running away with themselves... I'd put it on a chassis about 7 years ago, and drove it for about 3. The body rotted out again (my fault entirely), I got as far as the floors and sills, then realised that every panel needed replacing, full inner rear wing, I wasn't happy with the door fit and the rear bulkhead wasn't too good either. After throwing £300 at it in repair sections and realising i'd need to spend another £400 at least and a lot of grief, it just sort of wore me down. Plus I've got too many other cars that need doing including a Split camper, and my garage needs serious work, so something had to give. I'd have been better off keeping the '71 Dyane I sold (for not a lot) a couple of years ago and doing that, but there we go... live and learn. Bloody great car, that was... cost £50 and I drove the out of it in the '90s. I will have another if the right one comes along. I'd only have another 2CV if it was a ripple or something like that... or maybe a '70s Club.

Oh, not at all. I've had far too many hours of fun driving in the buggers to give up that easily - I'm just at the point where spending hours welding isn't as much fun as it used to be.... :/
I did think of chopping it up into some sort of rod thing, but... ach...

Doesn't the steering get very heavy as they go lower? Hi Rod Yes. But not so much of a problem if you're chopping it! Will be nice and light then! You can get specially turned arms that reduce the steering weight by altering the geometry if low is your thing. Personally, I've found that if anything, I need MORE height! Got beached. oops! PS - note the whinging female in this shot. My good lady was most upset to find that whilst she was trying to push the car, I'd jumped out to get a photo!

yes they roll less on corners when lower. You could go the whole hog, turned arms, uprated spring cannisters and uprated dampers but as you say this gets expensive, full race motor next and thats even more expensive But fun.

WOW!!! I don't log in for a day and things go crazy. Thanks for the pics of the orange rod. Looked on the equivalent of autotrader over here (greece) and the prices are shocking, couldn't find anything below 1500 euro (and with wages here that means the equivalent of 1500 pounds!!!!) and even saw a Charleston for 9000 euro. I'll be buying that one to rod then
