Just found the cheapest car insurance company I have ever been to. www.footmanjames.co.uk/classic_car.aspxFully comp on the dolly, nil excess, after market alloys, sports exhaust and any other mods as long as I tell them £148.50per year! That’s me and the Mrs. for a year, (5k Miles) even though I wrote that rangey and that mini orf! Well worth phoning them

I've been with them for a few years. My best quote was £144 on the Rover P6 V8 with unlimited mileage! They tend to de-restrict the mileage if you are a member of an associated club. I was in the P6 Drivers Club (now just plain P6 Club) which helped.
Just been quoted just under £400 for both the Metro and Vanden Plas although they are restricted mileage.
Forgot to mention that my quotes always include business cover too!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Russell, see what difference it makes by moving it to your own address... when we de-camped from Shefford to B'wade, my insurance went down a fair bit....

I had a quick go on lancaster classic insurance and got silly quotes, £1900 for a BMW 316!

I was with Footman James for my Merc, but got a bit miffed when my renewal price didn't come down any. I think I was paying about £500 and that was with a limited mileage classic policy, so no NCB earned . I found Adrian Flux far cheaper. I suppose it depends who you are, what you drive, where you live...

I'm with them as well, 18 year old male (can't get much worse!) with no NCB, driving for 10 months, Hillman Imp completely standard, TPFT £427, Which isn't that bad bearing in mind my age! Got a claim now though so in September that will probably shoot up They do a Young Classic Drivers policy and a Rootes Group policy I believe

I'm with adrian flux, not too please with em to be honest, they're supposed to be mini. ifthey were mini frendly then why would they increase my premiums for such common mods and better dampers (surely better handling lowers accidents rates) prettier steering wheel, pedals and gear knob. wont be staying with em unless they're alot cheaper than the others
just tried to get a classic quote with footmanjames, got to about page 5 and then they tell me the car has to be 15 years old haha. i didnt flike the idea of clicking on the "modern" car cover button

I've always been with FJ for my classic insurance (for my 'daily' too sometimes) and although I've never had to claim I've always had good experiences with them.
I've got myself and my Father-In-Law on the same policy, limited mileage on a lowered Cressida with alloys and a Fiat T/C'd Minor for sbout £120 and that includes breakdown cover (which actually works!).

Interesting aside............
I was hit from the side at a T-junction in 2004 by an old guy on his way to a funeral (honest) he hit my left rear wheel and arch..... checked my company car insurance history this week to see if I would get any benefit when I get private "classic " insurance on whatever car I end up with this year............ the bird at the insurance company (Nobilas) read out the claims history, and the incident was recorded on their system as a head on collision....... so much for record keeping. However the nice thing is that the old guys insurance settled fully. The other 2 carpark dings the car got was settled cash by the company... so that makes my last 4 1/2 years effectively claim free...................... heres hoping for a good quote.
