Spent 5mins looking at drift trike videos on youtube and decided I had to build one. Bought one off a local guy for £40 just so I could see how he made his ect, the bearings broke soon as I sat on it so upgraded the wheels for some heavy duty ones and wrapped them in some huge PE gas mains laying pipe I got my hands on. Seemed to be perfect dimensions for drifting, I think the wheels being so big and heavy sets it aside from most the other ones I've seen online. [/IMG] Took it for a spin with my little brother, GREAT fun, took loads of photos and a hand ful of vids and bless him he put it into a cracking little pontage together this will clear things for anyone who hasn't heard of it before ANYWAY... girlfriend soon got jealous and wanted a pink one so as one of her little surprises I'm going to try make her one in time for her birthday next Friday. Pink but I'm Ganna have to keep it small so it will fit on the roof rack of her mini. First things first got my hands on a bmx some kid left broken outside my place so used that and a green machine huffy I bought for £20 off eBay. Buying a green machine huffy is the easiest way to make pedals for a drift trike Here is both the dinars dismantled These are the pedals I have to somehow weld to the existing fork, so this is how I'm Ganna do it cut it half way and weld it perhaps with a sleeve holding it together. Cut the frame up and pieced it all together to see how it would look, unsure on which seat I want to use and at this point not sure if I'm going to use the bmx frame or bend a piece of steel. Anyway, spent quite a lot of time rummaging around finding parts ect but had my first bash at it today for an hour or so, going to give it another bash tomorrow maybe.

That's RobinXR4i's trike....green tyre I'm sure the green trye was provided at one of the Area 52 trike weekenders? Here's a video from last December showing the building of some trikes, then a night time session near the unit. Area 52 drift triking...and another one video'd on the beach in October. Thanks to Corbs for the awesome filming/editing. Area 52 hits the seaside(damn I wish Vimeo vids could be linked like YouTube ones!)

I have thought about making a powered one using the engine and clutch system I used on my RRG2010 chopper. Drifting without the need for a hill!

Yep thats the one I built ;D Sadly it wouldn't fit in the back of the Sierra and my garage is rapidly filling up with junk from the misses parents house move, so the trike went. I'll build another one as some point. the bearings broke soon as I sat on it so upgraded the wheels for some heavy duty ones and wrapped them in some huge PE gas mains laying pipe I got my hands on. Guessing you must know Ross then? Yeah the wheels I used were cheap pallet truck wheels off ebay, had to reweld the centres a few times as the bearing carrier kept trying to escape Be interested to see how this comes together ;D

Nice job. Spent 5mins looking at drift trike videos on youtube and decided I had to build one. I made the mistake of looking at one the other day and had the same reaction except there's not many useful hills round here so I'm planning on using an engine........
