took my daily driver (99 bmw 5 series) down to a well known bodyshop in south east kent about 3 months ago to have the bootlid repaired and the area around the number plate lights done as well, these areas had surface rust bubbling all over and it was annoying the hell out of me.
1st time, the car came back, had been painted up... super, 1 month later, the rust was creeping back in and the paint started to look less shiny than the rest of the car (car is kept clean). i took the car back to said bodyshop, the owner agreed this was not right and would re do it free of charge,
around a month later the car went back in after i scourced alternative transport to and from work, 3 days later, i got a call saying the car was done (bit quick i thought?) but i went down and the paintwork looked well again. the owner said to me if i had any more issues please come down and adress them with him.
2 weeks in... the areas surrounding number plate lights are going off again, and there are pin pricks of rust coming through the paint on the bootlid AGAIN i know the roads are curse word and salty but surely this isnt right?
my question is... if a professional shop does such a repair, not that i know what methods they used, surely it should last longer than a month or 2? has anyone on here had issues like this after having a car sprayed or repaired, what on earth should i say to the bloke??
thanks in advance ollie.
