aah I see ..so coilovers and turrets might be the way to go..
like you say,i'll have a play around with it first . i'll see what the new springs do to it and i'll take it from there
all good fun ;D
You don't need to go coilovers and turrets to lower it, I have done that for handling
If you look under the back of the Kadett/Chevette you have seperate coils and inclined dampers, if you undo the damper nuts at the top and jack up the car, the axle/wheels stay on the ground and the coil springs fall out
The reason for turrets is to get the dampers vertical.
Inclined dampers don't do a lot of damping anyway and this gets worse the more you lower it, if you put the dampers vertical they do a much better job.....
As I had decided to Turret it to get Vertical dampers, I went the extra and used Group 4 Escort Turrets that can take a Coilover damper unit...... this also makes it easier when I come to 4 link the rear axle as the Turrets/dampers are already in the right place ;D
If you just want to lower it, then take the standard springs and keep cutting bits off until you get to a ride height you like
You`ll need to Wire them to the spring cups top and bottom to prevent them dropping out under full droop as well
