Right, ive had these wheels for a while, and this summer they will be fitted to the kitten but need some opinions, i like all the above ideas, but least favourite would have to be the black ones, as i dout it will suit the car. the plan is abit of a clean and tidy look for 2007... the wheels are like these (slaters pic, ill change it if you want?) they have a polished lip, and a ring around the middle, the rest was painted 'raw' unfinished casting, so wont polish up the same as the lip. mine have some scatches on the lip around the edges (on the flat 'dish' bit) due to some heavy handed sand papering by me a few years ago which are too deep to polish out. easiest = painting metallic silver Coolest = Polishing to a dull shine, but this will highlight the imperfections and waste time that i could spend getting it realy low? Your opinions.........

Can I make another suggestion? Paint the middle area black (only the dipped area with the stud holes), and all of the rest silver? Not polished at all.

I definitly vote against painting them silver. One of my pet-bugs is that most alloy wheels that are made out of shiny silver stuff get painted "mock silver". I reckon go for polished overall and think that with some work using various grades of wet'n'dry followed up by autosol chrome polish you could get them shiny all over

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I did think silver at first, just for ease of application. Then I thought the same as Seth - silver can look w@nk. Particularly if it's that cheap nasty silver that Korean cars come in. So I voted black with polished rim. Always looks good. I wouldn't worry about the scratches much as nobody will really notice unless you're going for concours.

i don't know if black will suit, i like the just the nut bit in black thing.
might try polishing them all over, then if they look kaka painting bits...
i have actualy orderd a polishing set so there will be some shine involved in what ever i go for.
keep the ideas coming

my god thats sexual! i need to keep the fronts skinny so they don't rub, so ill be stretching 145s over them and 165s on the rear, id love a pair of 7s for the rear though, bet they cost a mint though - more than my budget!
there slaters wheels in the top pic, not actually mine but the same as, i think those tyres are camacs and a dunlop!

£60 per corner (not including the wheel! he can do from 5 1/2 up to 7 inches, he can do other 10's aswell.
The cobra superslots look cool with a spun rim

He supplies the spun alloy rim and the allen bolts, you need to supply the wheel and he will machine off the face and drill and tap for the bolts. All you need to do is paint the wheel! He is Carl Austin, quite a legend in the Mini world, he has some seroiusly mad skillz. This is his site: www.foxwebsitedesign.co.uk/6.htmlThe wheels aren't pictued on his site, but they are at the very bottom on the price list page.

you can streach most 165x70x10 over them. Some people will moan but there are enough people doing it to prove it works ok! Most popular is the yokohama A032R they look the nuts!
