1998 VW caddy pick up, ideas needed!Rich

First up, it's a skoda Felicia pickup rebadged. I'm sure you know that already though. the felicia is based on favorit running gear and they are a fairly basic beast. the best port of call is to look to the skoda world for Inspiration as there are more skoda versions elsewhere than the comparatively rare 'caddy'. They are even used in competitive racing. Seriously. They share very little with any VW platform car except the 1.6 petrol and 1.9 Diesel engine and the rear axle assembly. Seat Ibiza 6L coilovers will fit with a little work. I owned a skoda version with the AEF dizzle. Thread is here if you wanted a look. I did loads of trick things to it, so it's a good start retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=106871Good luck!

To be fair I'm not sure. From my 'put all the VW-AG cars at work on the ramp' research it uses the same rear suspension setup and the front struts have the same 45mm clamping diameter. You probably only need to fit the stock pickup top mounts to the seat ibiza 6L coilovers and it should all fit lovely. I also have the pattern somewhere for the VW rear stub axle spacers should you want to make a set or get an engineering firm to, they cost me about £20 all in including longer bolts but I had the 20mm discs made by CADCut locally and did the drilling myself with a pillar drill. It's worth doing because the rear track is very weak against the front, probably about 20mm narrower each side!

I will have to research it as i definitely need to lower! , and what do you mean by axle spacers, to make the wheels stick out more?

Not to stick out, just to line them up in the arches better. You can see how they work in my skoda thread.

Nope. Oddly the truck had been modified to fit the seats, rather than the other way round. When I fitted the cobras I just fitted those to the Alfa runners. If you don't mind ditching your stock seats then the easier thing to do is fit the skoda runners to seats of your choice.

will my truck have skoda seats though mate? seeing its a volkswagen.. and ye if they are skoda i will prefer to ditch em and put the runners on the new seats!

I think you are missing a point here. Your truck is a skoda felicia manufactured under license par sé (skoda were owned by VW at this point) by VW with VW badges instead of Skoda ones. Much like the VW taro. Look that up So in short, mechanically identical to the skoda, bar the grille, wheels, and badges. So anything relevant to the felicia is relevant to the 'mk2' caddy pickup.

Wheels are standard VW 4x100, ect ect, just the front brakes are Felicia specific. I can look into making another set of spacers, the drawback is that without a VW or skoda I can't promise they will actually fit. I made mine and trial fitted them, slightly over drilling the holes when the bolts were not quite right. The template is just a cardboard disc with holes in! Haha! With the seats, I think the skoda runners either unbolt or you can still out rivets. Then you can weld or bolt together what you need to make it all fit Edit: if they are felicia wings, then yes, they will fit

Yea, most front wheel drive cars have a narrower rear track than the front. The skoda is very noticeable. The extra 40mm overall makes a noticeable difference to the look of the truck.
