Hi all, I've spent more hours than I could ever count reading everybody's projects etc, I laughed, felt a lot of jealousy and learned loads and although it may not be strictly "retro" here is my Megane.. (I will take no offence being told its curse word ;D )
Anyway, This is my ph2 megane coupe as I bought it around 4years ago..
Did a few bits to it, resprayed the standard wheels, lowered 40mm, powerflow back box etc..
Then a bit more.. This is about two years ago, I was experimenting with a spare front bumper as I didn't like the "slats". Cat back stainless on now, lowered 60mm, leather interior and countless other bits n bobs.
It then sat in a corner for a year, as I had a mates ph2 megane coupe in my garage while we did a turbo f7r conversion to it, after that left I did a light resto on an mg midget.
Once that left to live with my old man, I realised it was about time I got this back on the road as it was looking rather sorry for itself.
Here it is up on stands ready for me to sort a few niggles, and go front to back replacing anything worn and improving where I can, but focus is on getting it an m.o.t.
So far I have stripped everything from underneath that didnt argue so I could scrape off all the old underseal and given it a fresh coat. Everything I take off is being cleaned or replaced..
I've been asked countless times why I'm bothering and to just do what it needs for an mot and chuck it through, but if I'm under it, I may as well do it properly!
Stripped the interior as the carpet was awful, full of mould due to the car having sat outside for a year in the awesome welsh weather
Ive also under sealed the bare floor inside, then put down some new sound deadening as the old was damp from a previous leak, and then put the cleaned carpet back in.
I don't know what I want to do with it really, ive got a hankering for something older/more interesting, but at the same time I do have a 2.0 f7r engine sat next to it that I'm tempted to drop in, (ive got a whole ph1 f7r spread about the garage) but I will probably get it through an mot before I consider that.
Next thing on my list is to drop the front subframe and get that cleaned and painted up, and while I'm there renew all the front bushes etc and anything else that needs doing..
So, that's about where I am with it now. Opinions good or bad welcome (as long as there not too nasty )
